CHAPTER 11

Dean's POV

Juni and I listened to music for the majority of the rest of the ride, and it was, to my delight, all of the same kind of music I listen to. The more time I spent with Juni, the more awesome she became.

When we finally reached Ellendale, North Dakota, after hours of driving, I was a little disappointed to have to get out of the car and find a hotel to stay in.

The four of us finally found a little hotel to stay in. Cas ducked out soon after, probably to find a weapon against the fate we were hunting. We got two rooms, so that Juni wouldn't have to sleep with us, but when we went to find our rooms, she came in with us to talk about the case.

"You're room's the one right across from ours." I informed her, and she nodded in understanding.

The room wasn't as bad as some of the horrible motel's Sam and I had stayed in before, but it was pretty plain. Tan walls, two beds with plain white sheets, and one window that showed a glimpse of the outside world through tattered, dark colored curtains that were most likely only there to attempt to break up the pale color palette of the rest of the room.

Juniper dropped her bags at the foot of one of the beds, all in a big pile, and fished her laptop out of the heap. She jumped onto the bed that she had placed her things beside, her thin frame bouncing slightly as she crossed her legs. She put her laptop in front of her feet, turning it on and looking up at me and Sam.

"Let's get something done tonight before bed, shall we?" She said, and I nodded.

"Sounds good." Sam said, also grabbing his laptop. He opted to sit on the edge of the second bed, and I joined him, peering over at his laptop like a kid trying to steal answers on a test.

A sound abruptly erupted from Juniper's laptop, and Sam and I both jerked our heads up to see what had happened. Juniper seemed just as confused and startled as we were when some strange little jingle started to play.

Juniper slammed her hand onto the volume button on her laptop, and the song stopped. "No." Was all she muttered.

"What the hell was that?" I asked.

Juni glanced up at me, a disgusted scowl on her face. "That was the official Ellendale website." She mumbled.

I smirked, then frowned. "Don't tell me everybody in this town is gonna be as cheery as the lady singing that?"

"God, I hope not." Juni replied, her scowl remaining.

"Guys, we need to finish this case quick, and I mean quick." I said. "I can't handle that without wanting to punch somebody. A bunch of freaking Dolly Parton's running around this damn place..." I added distastefully, a grimace forming on my lips.

"Guys, I think you'll survive." Sam said, smirking at both of us.

"Yeah, if people don't sing us to death." Juni pointed out.

"Hey, Juni! Rise and shine, kid!" I called, knocking on the door to her room.

I heard shuffling footsteps and then the door opened, revealing a very dishevelled Juni. She looked tired, but not the kind of tired experienced after just waking up.
