CHAPTER 21
Juniper's POV, Sam's POV, and Dean's POV
Juniper's POV
"Come on guys, its almost Halloween!" Dean said, his eyebrows raised and his lips spread in his little half smile. His eyes sparkled with excitement.
"Its always Halloween for us," I commented flatly.
Dean snorted. "Don't tell me you think like Sam."
I glanced over at Sam, who was gazing intently at his laptop. He looked up when he heard his name. "What?" I narrowed my eyes, propping my feet up on the table and leaning back in my chair.
"Dean's very excited about Halloween, apparently." I mumbled.
"Its always-"
"Yeah, yeah, always Halloween for us." Dean interrupted. "You guys don't know how to have any fun."
"What could possibly be fun about Halloween for us? We just get to watch kids wear costumes that look nothing like actual monsters and beg for candy from strangers."
Dean opened his mouth, then closed it with a frown. "Nevermind," he mumbled, collapsing in the seat next to me dejectedly.
I put a hand on his shoulder. "Don't be so sad, Dean. At least Sam's looking for a case."
Sam had gone back to being absorbed in his laptop. "Hm?" He mumbled absently.
"I said, at least you're looking for a case. It'll keep Dean's mind off of Halloween."
The youngest Winchester nodded slightly. "Uh, yeah... Cases." His eyes scanned his computer screen.
I sighed and let my feet drop to the floor. "I'm gonna go get another beer."
Dean jumped up when I stood. "I'll come too." He said.
We shuffled through the bunker to the kitchen, and I pulled two beers from the fridge. Dean accepted one gratefully.
"Does Sam seem... Off to you?" Dean asked.
I shrugged. "Maybe a little,"
"You think he's alright?"
Another shrug. "I'm sure he's fine. Why don't you just ask him if you're so worried?" I asked.
Now it was Dean's turn to shrug. "He won't tell me the truth. Not if something's bothering him." I shook my head with a small smirk, taking a swig of my beer. "What?" Dean asked defensively.
"You Winchesters," I mumbled. "You never talk to each other. You gotta talk about your feelings, you know."
"Are you mocking me, Evelyn?"
I put a hand on my chest, pretending I was offended. "Why, of course not. Just throwing your own advice back at you, Winchester."
"Well, I'm not the one with anything wrong. How about you throw that advice at Sam?"
"We've all got something wrong with us, Dean."
