CHAPTER 12
Juniper's POV
I was eager to grab my things and stuff them in my duffle bags and hit the road. It wasn't just about the fate, though that was a big part. I also wanted to get back to the bunker and check on Jade.
Even though I still kinda hated her at the moment, I couldn't help but want to make sure she was alright. And I wasn't about to call her. She would talk to me for ten years over the phone, but face-to-face, she wouldn't say much, and I wouldn't have to deal with her constant chatter.
It was selfish of me to think that way, but I wasn't going to change my entire mindset just because I was around my sister again. The day I became a respectably kind person was a day I did not want to see.
Sam was willing to compromise on the whole 'abandon the case' situation, given the circumstances, but Dean seemed only to begrudgingly agree with the idea. He checked us out of our hotel rooms while Sam and I brought out all of our bags and put them in the Impalas.
Sam, surprisingly, was the one who suggested that Dean ride with me on the way back to the bunker.
"Then I don't have to listen to Dean's music the whole way back." The younger Winchester teased, but I figured that Sam liked the small amount of alone time.
Dean riding in my car, and sometimes even driving it, was seeming to become quite a permanent arrangement, but I couldn't say I was too upset about it. I was beginning to like having someone in the previously empty seat beside me.
Especially when it was Dean.
So the two of us spent another long drive across the country blasting rock and roll and going far above the speed limit when we could get away with it.
Though we had plenty of fun on the way back, both Dean and I were tired when we finally reached the bunker. We dragged ourselves into the bunker, and Sam was soon to follow, seeming just as tired.
"Hey guys, have fun?" Jade asked, a bit flatly, as we walked into the library.
"Yeah, loads." I replied.
"Hey, Jade." Sam and Dean both greeted her with their normal kindness towards her.
She smiled at them with a small wave, before returning to the book she was reading. Sam's face brightened when he realized she was reading something he must have found interesting as well. He went over and sat down next to her.
"What are you reading?" He asked.
Dean and I glanced at each other with matching smirks, and shuffled off to Dean's room. I really had no point in following him, but I hadn't seen his room yet, and I was curious to see what it would be like.
Dean looked back when he realized I was following. "Coming to check out the view?"
I chuckled. "Something like that, sure."
His room was a lot like I had expected it to be, though with a few embellishments that I hadn't exactly thought of. The guns and other various weapons on the walls were one of those embellishments.
"Nice decor." I commented with a smirk.
"Thanks," Dean replied. "I'll have you know, every one of these weapons has saved my life at least once." He added.
I laughed. "What about that one over there?" I asked, pointing at a random gun on the wall.
Dean followed my gaze. "Oh, that one? No, that one's just for decoration."
