Chapter 19- Nothing
*Mark's POV*
For once, I am almost completely sober, watching these two drink themselves silly. Ok, so I admit, maybe this wasn't the best idea...damn you Ed Sheeran this is your fault! Danny is now drunkenly using the table as a drum, intensely annoying Glen who is trying to lean on it, and intensely annoy me as it is giving me a headache.
"Dan!" I snap eventually, making him stop and look up. "I think it's time we went home." I tell him.
“But Markkkk” He says, dragging out my name like a child.
“But Dannyyyy” I mimic him, “Come on, now.” I order and before he can reply I pull the two of them out of the bar.
Outside the night is cold; the days have begun to get shorter and colder with every one that passes. Danny is staggering ahead of me, Glen trailing behind. Suddenly, Danny begins spinning; he spins around and around as he walks. Now considering he can't cope with a kids roundabout, god knows how this will end. About half way down the street, he hits a lamppost, which stops his momentum. He stands there, swaying, looking confused and dazed at the thing in front of him. I glance behind me to see Glen traipsing along, dragging his feet. If anything the alcohol has made him more miserable...if that was possible. I turn back, and sort of wish I hadn't; Danny throwing up is not the nicest of sights.
"Come on, let's get you home." I say grabbing both of them by the arm.
"No!" Danny protests.
"Dan, come on." I say trying to pull him along but he refuses.
"Autumn!" Danny cries and I see Glen wince at the name.
"Danny there is nothing we can do now. Come on let's go home." I say but he doesn't listen.
"No!" He says again. God he is like a stubborn toddler!
"Dan!" I say sternly.
"Autumn!" He calls again. Then, suddenly, before can stop him, he is running. He runs surprisingly fast for a drunk man.
"Daniel John Mark Luke O'Donoghue get back here now!" I yell after him but it's no good. To top it off, Glen has taken this moment to burst into tears; well this is great. I put an arm around Glen, not really sure what else to do. I need to catch Danny before he does anything stupid but I can’t just leave Glen. Just at that moment, my phone goes crazy.
“She’s just a devil woman,
with evil on her mind,
beware the devil woman,
she’s gonna get you!
She’s just a devil woman,
with evil on her mind,
beware the devil woman,
she’s gonna get you from behiiiinnnndd!” It sings and I look down to see ‘Incoming call, Devil Woman.’ Ha good old Cliff Richard! I accept the call and suddenly Rina’s voice is blaring down the phone.
“Mark Sheeran where the fuck are you?!” She shouts.
“Ummm…a street.” I say cautiously.
“Why?! Drinking money away?! Mucking about like five year olds!? Hiring prostitutes?!” She yells.
“No…its complec- hold on, what was that last one!?” I hear her sigh, then laugh lightly.
“Sorry. You were meant to be looking after the kids tonight; I had to go out remember? I had to get Carol in to babysit! Where are you?” She asks. Shit, I forgot about all that…damn. “Hold on, is someone crying?” She asks…damn.
