Chapter 30 - Running

*Dan’s POV*

“Get up, you’re alright, get up.” I say, my voice sticking in my throat slightly as I stare down at her, lying below me. “Look I warned you didn’t I? I warned you what would happen if you crossed me and what did you go and do? You can’t say I didn’t warn you, ‘cause I did.” I tell her, “That’s enough now, come on, get up.” but she doesn’t move. “It’s just a fall, it wasn’t that bad! Come on, just get up. Come on. Amber.” I say quietly but she doesn’t respond, she doesn’t move. I look down the three stone steps, the steps she fell down. I didn’t know there was a gate in those railings; I didn’t know the lock would break so easily. I can feel my heart pounding in my chest; feel my blood pulsing in my ears; deafening me. I run my hands through my hair and turn away. She has to get up! Why won’t she get up?! She must be playing me around, she has to get up! "Amber just stop it!” I yell, spinning back to her, pointing a finger at her. “Just get up! Now! Get up, your fine, just get up!” I yell, my breathing shaking my whole body, “Amber…please.” I whisper as tears sting my eyes…tears? Why am I crying? I’m Dan, I don’t cry…so why am I crying? I look down at her, at the redness covering the concrete and staining her hair; what have I done?

*Glen’s POV*

“Danny it’s far too late, we will look in the morning I promise.” Cat says as she places a hand on Danny’s shoulder.

“No! Tomorrow is too late! You can go back if you want but I won’t!” Danny says. I haven’t said a word since we left the bar, I am exhausted but Dan is right, tomorrow is too late.

“I won’t either.” I say and suddenly everyone turns to stare at me.  “She has been gone to long already, how can I waste more hours without her being here with us, where she belongs?” I say and Mark sighs,

“Ok.” He says and Cat nods. “But London is a big place, how are we going to find her?” Mark asks.

“Well she can’t have dropped it more than about fifteen minutes ago, or someone else would have taken it. You can’t get far in fifteen minutes. She would probably be keeping to the shadows, nowhere too crowded.” Danny says looking around.

“That way?” I ask, pointing to a small side street.

“That way.” Danny agrees and slowly, we all set off in search of her, our daughter; Autumn.
