After Lauren left me, I spent the rest of the day crying to myself and feeling lonelier than ever. I kept replaying that scene in my mind, over and over again, trying to think of some way to stop myself from kissing her, but I couldn't. Strangely, I don't regret it because the feeling of her lips against mine was overwhelming. Amazing. Heavenly.

But I do wish that I knew why she left. She kissed me back, so why did she run away?

By lunchtime the next day, I received a call from Jessie again. At first, I declined it and continued to sit on my bed, pondering everything. But then, when she kept calling me, I had no choice but to answer.

"What?!"

"Y/N? You have to come! Quick!"

Her voice was full of worry and it reminded me of when she called me to let me know about mum's death. Despite my current emotion and the void I felt in my chest, I knew this was bigger than me.

"I'm on the way."

I had to make myself look presentable due to me being in my pyjamas, but after that, I ran as fast I could to the forest. When I arrived, I saw everyone gathered around something.

"What's happened?!" I shouted for attention.

Everyone turned my way and began to stand back, giving me clear sight of what they were staring at. Three wolves were laying there, dead. Blood seeped from their wounds and stained their fur, crusting over, showing that whoever had murdered them had left them there for a while.

"Who did this?" I asked, my voice caught in my throat. I looked around and no one replied, so I raised my voice this time. "I asked who did this?!"

"The vampires."

I turned around and saw Daniel walking towards me with an angry look in his eyes. He stopped beside the dead wolves and I watched him cautiously.

"These three went out last night, to kill Ariana. I know you said no killing, but we wanted revenge, Y/N. She was your mother, but she was our leader, too."

As I watched him speak, I felt my anger building up. He went against my word and this resulted with the death of three of our friends!

"I can't believe you did this! Why didn't you tell me?!" I shouted in his face. Everyone remained quiet as they watched the two of us like a tennis match.

"Don't yell at me, Y/N!" he shouted back. "You're not angry at me, okay?! You're angry at them!" He pointed his finger in the direction of the vampires' territory. "They are the ones we should be angry at! If it weren't for them, this wouldn't have happened!"

"Oh yeah? And what do you suggest we do, huh?" I crossed my arms over my chest and glared at him. When he didn't reply, I turned to face everyone else' clueless-looking face. "In fact, you all seem to be with Daniel on this, so why don't we do what you guys suggest? Since being the leader doesn't actually mean anything anymore."

By now, I was furious. Furious at Daniel for going behind my back; furious at the others for listening to him; furious at the vampires for killing mum; furious at Lauren for running away, and furious at myself for not doing the right thing.

"Kill them!" someone shouted, and soon enough, everyone joined in. They all wanted the same thing: The vampires dead.

"Fine!" I yelled, earning everyone's attention. "You want to see some action? Follow me then!"

I stormed past everyone else and took the lead as I began to run. Picking up speed, I felt my body change into a streamlined shape and I leaped forward, feeling my transformation fully occur. I was now in my wolf form and I heard the others following me from behind. Their growls were heard and I knew they were thirsty for revenge. They were finally getting what they wanted.
