Your POV

I walk into the school canteen with a grin on my face. Well obviously I'm going to be grinning; it's finally lunch time! I've been starving since- well, breakfast. Hey, don't act like you aren't hungry right now, okay?

I locate my friends sitting at a table in the corner of the canteen, beside the window and walk over to them. As I get closer, I see they are laughing their heads off at something Jamie, my best friend, probably said.

I sit beside Jamie and opposite my two other friends, Clara and Amy. I set my pack lunch on the table in front of me and say, "Hey guys."

They all calm down from their laugh attack and smile at me, all saying 'hey' and 'hi' in a big rumble.

"So how was class?" I ask, taking my sandwich out of my bag. Mmm, it's chicken.

"Good," Clara replies with a smile. "How was yours?"

I nod and put my thumbs up as a 'yes' seeing as my mouth is too busy savouring the chicken sandwich I'm chewing.

We get into our usual routine of talking about any random things, when we end up getting onto the topic of our crushes. Oh, no.

"So, (Y/N)," Jamie smirks, looking at me. The other girls have the same expression plastered on their faces and I roll my eyes, knowing where this conversation is going. "Have you finally had the guts to speak to Lauren yet?"

You see, Lauren has been my ongoing crush since I first started high school. And if you knew what she looked like, she would most likely be yours too. She's a mix of being a badass and the most adorable girl you would ever lay eyes on; with her mesmerising green eyes, soft looking, pale skin and dark raven hair, she's pretty much my dream girl. And when the girls found out about my not so subtle crush on her, they wouldn't and still won't stop teasing me about it. Especially because I've never spoken to her in my life and I'm pretty sure she doesn't know I exist.

As I'm about to answer with my usual 'I'm not ready yet', I get the perfect idea and try to recline from a smirk forming on my face.

"Actually, yes," I smile a smug smile, seeing their expressions change into one of surprise and shock. "And I happened to tell her my feelings for her last night."

"Really?!" Amy asks with a raised voice, voicing everyone's thoughts.

I nod and continue my little facade, knowing nothing can happen from it. "Yep. And she actually asked for my number and rang me last night, proclaiming her love for me too. She told me she was too scared to ever tell me and was glad I told her first, and now she's my girlfriend."

All of their mouths are hung open in pure disbelief. I'm literally trying my hardest to not burst out laughing at their faces.

"I don't believe you," Jamie says, recovering from the 'news' I told her, as do the other girls.

"Well believe it," I say, shrugging with a smirk, when really I want to be laughing in their faces.

"If all that is true," Clara speaks, looking as if she's still trying to get her head around everything, "then why aren't you and Lauren together right now?"

"Because," I start, quickly trying to think of something to say. "Because she doesn't want to go public with our relationship for fear of hate from our fellow students."

All the girls just stare at me as I smile innocently to them, then there gaze slowly goes up and behind me. They keep their gaze behind me for a while until I grow curious and turn around. And what I see makes my heart stop beating.

Lauren Jauregui is standing before me with her arms crossed and a teasing smirk playing on her plump, pink lips.

"I'm loving this story, (Y/N)," she speaks in her sexy raspy voice that can drive anyone insane. "Can you please tell us all what happens next?"

I feel my face turn as red as a tomato as she watches me intently with her enticing green eyes.

"Um- uh- um," I stutter nervously. Crap, crap, crap. She probably heard everything. Crap.

"Excuse me, guys," she speaks, directing it to my friends, "but do you mind if my girlfriend and I speak in privately for a moment?"

My eyes almost pop out of my sockets as she says this, and the girls nod, looking as dumbstruck as I do.

"Thanks," Lauren flashes them her signature smile and puts her hand out for me to grab.

I gulp my nerves down as I stand up and grab her hand; gosh, it's so soft and warm. She leads me out the canteen and I glance behind me before we leave, seeing my friend's still staring at me awestruck. Except they don't know I was faking it.

When we are out of the canteen, she stops beside some random lockers in a clear hallway. Everyone is pretty much enjoying their lunch outside or in the canteen, meanwhile I'm about to get a grilling from my crush. She turns around to face me and I instantly know I'm dead. Oh, great.

"Quite the story that was," she smirks at me, as if she's enjoying this. Which she probably is.

I laugh nervously and rub the back of my neck. "Yeah, about that, I'm really sorry. You weren't supposed to hear that."

"I can tell," she laughs at my dismay. I can't help but feel the butterflies swirl a storm in my stomach at her beautiful laugh.

"Well, it was supposed to be a joke to my friends," I start, not meeting her gaze for fear I will melt in my shoes. "You see, ever since they found out I had a crush on you, they wouldn't stop teasing me about it so I thought that if I pretended I finally told you and you replied saying you liked me back, they would shut up. Then I was supposed to tell them that it was a joke afterwards so they wouldn't tease me again but then you came and heard me and now you probably think I'm some creep who lies about being in a relationship and I'm so very extremely sorry and-"

"Okay, okay!" She chuckles, putting her hands on my shoulder to stop me from rambling, resulting in a blush spreading across my cheeks.

She removes her hands from my shoulders and continues with a small smile. "And you have a crush on me?"

My eyes widen as I realise I told her and I facepalm, resulting in a small laugh from her. "Oh, god, today really isn't my day."

"Well, I forgive you," she says, her eyes sparkling with something I don't recognise, "as long as you tell your friends you were joking," I nod frantically at this point, feeling extremely embarrassed, "and I guess I'll be seeing more of you (Y/N)."

She leans in and kisses my cheek, then winks before walking away. I can't help but watch her hips sway side to side as she rounds the corner of the hallway and out of sight. My hand goes up to the spot where she just kissed me and I can't help but remember the touch of her soft lips pressed against my skin. And that wink, oh god, that wink just made me melt in my place.

See more of me? I guess pretending to be Lauren Jauregui's girlfriend may actually give me the chance to be Lauren Jauregui's girlfriend.
