Chapter 39 (the one where Calum gets insecure)

"Hey!" Luke came up to me not noticing Calum since by the looks of it he had one beer to many.
"Hi" I smiled holding his shoulders helping him stand up. "You know what Kayla?" he muttered getting closer to me. "Yes Luke?" i giggled at how weird he was when drunk.
"That jerk doesn't deserve you alright?" my smile slowly turned into a frown. "i-uh" i got cut off. "No Kayla listen" he got even closer to me. "If he loved you he wouldn't leave you like that. He's such a jerk he doesn't deserve you " he repeated "You are way too good for him " he tried to convince me. "Luke please don't say that it's not true"
i slowly pushed him away. I turned around in hope to see Calum standing right beside me but insted i saw him lost in the crowd of drunken people. "Luke I have to go. I'm sorry" i slowly walked away .
I pushed my way through people until i reached Calum in a corner of the room with an angry look on his face and a cup in his hands. "Calum!" i shouted as i finally got to him. "What's wrong ?" I held his hand. "Kayla.." there was a long pause with him just staring directly at me with lustful eyes. "Why are you even with me? Why do you even love me?" he looked up at me again with an angry yet upset look on his face .
"Calum" i said in a more questionable tone. "What do you mean?" i got closer to him trailing my thumb against his cheek. "...I just think ...he's right. i don't deserve you. You deserve someone better" i was shocked by how insecure he suddenly became. "Calum come on. He's drunk he doesn't know what he's talking about." i said with my hands around his neck. he looked at the floor still upset. "Calum please look at me" i picked his chin up with my fingers. "I love you . Don't ever doubt that" he looked at me. he didn't say a word he just slammed his lips against mine. he placed the cup on the table next to us and wrapped his arms around me. We pulled away and just stood there hugging each other tightly. "I love you too" he whispered with his hot breath hitting my neck sending shivers up my spine. By this point i wanted nothing else but to just cuddle and fall asleep in his arms.
And as if he had just read my mind he pulled away "Let's go home baby" he planted a kiss on my cheek and we left the party.
