chapter 48 (the one with a movie night)

"Are you sure you don't wanna come" my dad puts his shoes on waiting for my mom to get dressed "No thank you i already ate . I ordered chinese food. " i swing my feet back and forth as i was sitting on the kitchen counter.

"Okay" he nods. "Are you ready?" my dad sighs watching my mom walk out of my parents' bedroom. "yep" she smiles and they both walk out.

"wait!" i scream before they can close the door "Tell Luke to come over here" my mom smiles and nods.

It was 6 pm and Calum is still not back from wherever he is at the moment. I couldn't help but think of his hands around brook with her lips on his neck. I shake my head and hop off the counter

"Knock knock" Luke walks in with a huge grin on his face. "Awh you came" i run up to him and squeeze him in a big hug. "Yep. And i brought food"

he winks placing a white plastic bag on the counter while he takes his hoodie off leaving him in a plain white shirt.

"What is it?" i point at the bag. "Oh my mom told me to bring it to you because she knows how much you love lasagna. " he chuckles and my whole face lights up at the mention of lasagna. Liz makes the best one .

I take the plate out of the bag and run over to the drawer and pull out 2 forks. "So what do you wanna watch?" he says sitting on the couch opening netflix on tv. "How about 21 jump street." i smirk and sit next to him with a plate of lasagna and two bottles of soda. "yay" he squeals . 21 jump street is one of our favorite movies.

2 HOURS LATER.

"Man that movie never gets old" Luke stretches and i giggle in agreement.
"Where's Calum by the way?" he furrows his eyebrows and takes a sip of his soda.
"I don't know and to be honest i don't care" i roll my eyes and stand up. That was a huge lie. I do care where he is.

I open the freezer and pull out ice cream.
he sighs and shakes his head.
I sit next to him and hand him a spoon .
"Let's watch family guy" i suggest and he nods in agreement.

He put's his arm around me and i rest my head on his shoulder. Our bodies were covered with a soft blanket .
All of a sudden someone opens the door. We both snap our heads to the right and see Calum standing there with a sad expression on his face. "hi" he smiles and frowns as soon as his eyes fall to his feet. without a word he walks up the stairs.

"Go talk to him" Luke gives me a little push to stand up. "No" i lick the spoon full of vanilla ice cream . "Please" he begs "What's your problem Luke" i snap a bit louder than both of us expected. "Why are you so obsessed with me giving Calum another chance. I thought you love me." i let out a puff of air.

"I do love you Kayla. And i want the best for you. Please trust me and go talk to him." he rubbs my back and I stand up. "Could you please go?" i say with tears running down my face. Calum cheated on me and Luke as my friend is not being helpful at all. "I'm not going until you go up there and talk to Calum" he snaps standing up.

"Okay fine. Stay here as long as you want i'm going to bed." i turn around and run up the stairs. "Kayla!" he yells and follows me to my room. "What" i turn around as he closes the door behind him. "i know you're not going to sleep. You're just gonna cry the whole night. Please go talk to Calum let him explain and at the end of the day you'll be happy i promise"

he holds my hands "Why did you send me that text in the first place you prick?" i cross my arms "i didn't know what was going on until Michael explained everything to me later that night at my house. but it was too late. the text was already sent." he bit his lip.

"I honestly don't want to waste time with someone who's gonna hurt me over and over again" i start crying "Please i really want to be alone at the moment to process everything that has happened to me in the past couple of hours. " i look at him and he nods. "Okay" he says a bit upset and walks out .

CALUM'S POV

I hear the front door open and close as a sign Luke left. I really appreciate what he's trying to do but it's up to her to forgive me and no one's gonna change her mind. But i hope she knows that i'll be waiting.
I hear quiet sobs come from the room next door. For a second i think about going to her room and giving her a big hug but i promised to stay away from her as much as possible . She needs her distance and i should respect it despite i cheated on her.

KAYLA'S POV

I sit on my bed and burry my face into my palms with tears filling up my hands.
Suddenly i hear quiet sobs and sniffs from the room next door. At the moment i want nothing more than to go to his room and sleep in his arms. I miss him.

CALUM'S POV

I can't help but think of Kayla. She's the best thing that has ever happened to me. God i miss her .
