My eyes follow the voice and stop as they land on a person i least expected to see .

Michael. "Kayla!" he shouts running towards me. "Shut up you're making a scene" i chuckle and send an apologetic smile to people staring at us.

"Sorry" he smiles.
we order our food and sit in a booth.
"So how are you doing?" he bites onto his straw. "I'm fine i guess , why?" i shrug "Oh i just thought. . . you know. . . since Calum moved in with Br-" his phone vibrates

"Sorry i gotta take this" he answers the phone call. I wasn't paying attention to who he was talking to . My mind was overtaken by his words. . . What did he mean? Brook. . . oh no that can't possibly be true. . . right?

i was so caught up in my own thoughts that i didn't notice Michael hanging up or even snapping his fingers in front of me to get my attention.

"sorry" i say with a dry voice making me cough. "Michael?Who did Calum move in with?" i tap my fingers against the table separating our bodies.

"Oh you don't know"I shake my head. he tensed up and i could see that by his repeatedly blinking and gulping.

"Me neither" he nervously shrugs . "Michael. . . " i say with pleading eyes.

"I t-told you. I don't know" his sudden snap at me makes me sit back and let out a sigh. "sorry. . . " his eyes turn to soft. "Yeah. Um. I have to go." i shake my head in disbelief and stand up from a table.

"dammit Kayla wait" i hear his boots run after me. "No it's okay Mike. It's not your fault. " i turn around leaving him completely worried .

As I'm speeding on the freeway for a second i think about driving off to where Brook lives. But luckily my brain wins the battle with my heart. While he's living with her doing God knows what I should be having fun too.

I don't want to be that girl who is at home eating ice cream and crying over a guy who just uses her and leaves.
I can't be that girl. I won't let him walk over me and treat me like an object.

As i arrive home i pull up in my driveway take my shopping bags and turn around walking over to Luke's house.

"Oh hi" a sleepy messy haired boy greets me with no shirt on.
"Hi there " i swift past him placing my shopping bags next to the couch "Where's your mom" i ask noticing Liz is nowhere to be seen. Usually she'd be the one who would basically pull me in her embrace as soon she'd see me and greet me with loads of soft kisses on my cheek.

"She's at work" he rubs the back of his neck . I can't help but glare at his toned body and his gray sweatpants hanging low on his hips. "I didn't know you were coming" he chuckles sitting on the couch. "yeah me neither it just sort of happened. " i sit next to him pressing my knees to my chest.

"Did you hear from Calum" he asks nervousness obvious in his voice. "No. . . Why?" i raise my brow. "Oh um. . . j-just asking" he looks away. Seriously what is going on .

"Guess who i saw at McDonald's today" i change the subject noticing his shoulders relax. "Um let me guess. . . Michael." he laughs and i can't help but laugh back.

"How'd you know?" i wrinkle my nose slightly peeking my tongue out.
"Somehow Michael and McDonald's always end up in a same sentence. " he lets out a long chuckle his eyes meeting mine.

We both stare at each other for a while until i manage to look away as i feel my cheeks heat up. "That's a cute laugh" Luke smiles at me "oh. Thanks" i blush and immediately hide my blushing face by looking away.
