Chapter 41(the one with an awkward lunch)

Later that morning Kayla and Calum went back home and regretted ever coming back to Michael's house to apologize to Brook. While Calum wanted to explain everything to Brook she was already moving on by having sex with her ex boyfriend. remember when Luke was upset because his girlfriend cheated on him, well Calum was the one who somehow replaced Luke in Brook's life.The thing is Luke didn't know it was Calum who she cheated with because Kayla never actually mentioned her name nor did he ever see her properly . The only time he had seen her was when she was making out with Calum on the couch at the party, but that includes seeing only the back of her head.

Luke drove her home and broke up with her ...again. While Calum and Kayla went back to bed.

Kayla's POV

i woke up around noon slowly getting out of bed to take a shower because i literally smelled like i was dipped in a tub full of alcohol. After that i pull on a pair of black high waisted jeans with a grey tank top. i sit on bed smiling at how cute calum is. "wake up" i tangle my fingers in his dark curls. without saying a word he pulls me back down nuzzling his head in my hair. "ew Calum you smell awful" i giggle pushing him away but don't accomplish much. even half asleep he's stronger than me. "come on Calum get up i'm hungry." i whine "why? you can't eat by yourself?" he chuckles

"i can but i want to go out for lunch" i kiss his cheek. "fine" he groans and finally sits up. "hurry up" i wink and go downstairs.

"good morning" mom giggles looking at the time. "yeah hi" i smile opening the fridge. "where's calum?"
"i think he's still sleeping in my bed" i freeze as soon as i let those words slip my mouth "your bed?" she gives me a weird look. I get red in the face. "hey!" Calum runs down the stairs making me let out a sigh of relief."hi" my mom says still giving us weird looks.

"What's wrong" Calum leans on the counter. "why were you sleeping in Kayla's bed" I look over to Calum and notice a big grin on his face. He openes his mouth and i close my eyes as if that's gonna help me not wanting to hear his inappropriate explanation.
"well i got drunk and while Kayla was in my room preparing my bed i already fell asleep in hers so she fell asleep in my room " he smiled and my jaw slightly dropped at how an amazing liar he is.

"oh" she nodds "didn't know you were at the party as well"

"so how was your party?" she took a sip of her tea. i look at calum who is already looking at me. we both got red in the face. flashbacks playing in my brain making me cringe. "it was okay" i shrug and take my phone "where are you going?" she turns around noticing Calum following my step. "we're going out for lunch, need anything?" i say as i open the door "No thanks have fun" she winks and gets back to her tea.

"You really need to learn how to lie" Calum chuckles unlocking the car. "She could've assumed things"

"i'm pretty sure she did" i giggle getting in .

We pulled up in front of a Chinese restaurant which is one of our favorite places to eat. We ordered our food and Calum placed his hand over mine looking me directly in the eyes which by the way was making me uncomfortable.

"are you okay?" i chuckle playing with his fingers. "We need to talk" my stomach twisted and i pull my hand away placing it down to my lap. "You're leaving me aren't you?" i sigh looking down . "What?No. Of course not" he shakes his head "I think it would be a right thing to talk about Brook and I" he bites his lip.

"You want to talk about your ex with me?" i raise my eyebrow. "Sorry I'm not in the mood to listen about her. You don't need to remind me of your perfect relationship and how she's better than me . Trust me i didn't forget and i probably never will.those words are still playing in my head Calum and i would appreciate if you'd stop bringing that up. Thanks "

i snap at him trying hard not to let a tear slip down my cheek. "Kayla what's your problem?" he gives me an angry look. "Don't act so innocent Calum!" i sarcastically chuckle.

"Like you don't know what I'm talking about . You don't remember how you told me that i was bitch, how I wasn't worth your time and how you're happier with Brook . Happier than you ever were with me? " i tap my fingers on the table. "Well I was about to explain and apologize for everything i've done." he holds my hands down to the table.

"I'm sorry Kayla. I truly am. Seeing you with another guy broke me and my anger couldn't control my actions. I was so upset that i tried to run away from all of my problems and move on .

One night i went to this party and there i met Brook. I have to admit i didn't like her at all . But like an asshole i am i started talking to her and even had sex with her to keep my mind off of you. It didn't work . You were the only thing that's been on my mind the whole time i was with her.

The only reason i brought her home was because i wanted you to hate me even more so it wouldn't break you if i left. I was suffering without you ."

I stared at him blankly as he was making everything clear to me. My mind can finally work properly. He is like an open book where i can find all of my answers at.All my questions are answered. "Calum" i cut him off placing my palm over his hand "Yeah?" i look at him for few more seconds and it looks like he's about to cry and i couln't help but grin making him furrow his eyebrows in confusion.

"I forgive you. Sure those words really affected me but i forgive you " i smile leaning over the table to give him a kiss. He smiles into the kiss when a fake cough makes both of us jump back.

"I'm sorry but your food is ready" a dark haired man places the plates on the table with a bright shade of pink spreading across his cheeks.
"Sorry" I mumble and look at Calum who said nothing but smirk.

It's kinda awkward for us too. "Thank you sir" Calum nodds as the man quickly walks off.
We both start laughing
"We should definitely finish that after this" he smirks
i wink in response and take a sip of my drink .
