-Melody's POV-
(7:00am)
Today, Layla is going to join my class. I'm kind of relieved but also scared. She might be a friendly person, or one of the bratty people who gossip. Fingers crossed, she'll be nice.

-At school-

"Okay class, sit down," the teacher (Mr.Smith) announced, with an annoyed look on his face.
The class troublemaker, Kai, was throwing scrunched up pieces of paper at people's heads. One of them hit my eye. I glared at him with a devilish look. He laughed out loud, but it really wasn't funny.

"Better watch out!" Kai shouted.
"It's not funny,Kai," I whispered under my breath. I looked at him.
"Uh, yes it is!"
Kai is the most annoying person in the whole universe. Something like this happens everyday.
"Kai, 1 hour detention after school with the head teacher. You must not throw things or hurt anyone in this school." Mr. Simms raised his voice.
Kai rolled his eyes, then sat down on his seat.

"So, as you know there is a new student joining us today." The teacher announced.
Suddenly a girl walked in through the door and stood next to Mr Smith.
"Um, my name is Layla. I hope I can make good friends with all of you."
She spoke timidly, as she twirled her hair with her finger.

She looked beautiful, and her appearance elegant. Her eyes were hazel, with long wavy brown hair. Her skin was a caramel colour, like she was tanned. Her skirt was actually at the right length for once - a bit above her knee - unlike the other girls. Their skirts are so high you could see their knickers. Ew.

Mr. Smith told Layla to sit next to me, as the empty seat used to be Jimin's. Ah, how I wish he could be here. When she sat down, she looked at me and smiled. Her eyes are so hypnotising, no wonder everyone was staring at her. I smiled back.
"My name is-," I said, but Layla cut me off.
"Melody, I know." She raised her eyebrows at me.

How the hell does she know my name??

Something told me I've seen her before. But I don't know where.

"Yea, Katrina told me about you." Layla smirked.

I know where she's from now. I'm in trouble.

"Oh did I see you in the hospital? With Katrina?" I asked.
"Yea, I'm her cousins friend. That's how we met."
"That's cool." I tried to hide my feelings. This is all part of Katrina's plan. I know it.

You remember that girl who gave me the dirty look when I was at the hospital with Katrina?

That's her. Layla.

The best thing to do is act natural in front of her. I can't show that I'm scared. I'm not going to tell anyone either, it'll just become a huge fuss. I like to keep things to myself, if you know what I mean.

There was that dirty look again. She thinks I can't see her just because I'm looking at the board, I smirked to myself.

"Let's be friends," Layla winked at me.
"Of course," I eye smiled at her.
Ugghh. You wish. I would never want to be friends with a person like you, I thought.

At break, I sat on the bench and drew the field in front of me. It was cold, but it didn't bother me. The wind brushed my hair into my face, as I saw a girl running up to me. It was Layla. I rolled my eyes when she wasn't looking.

"Hey! Melody!" She shouted, and she sat down on the bench next to me.
"Hey," I replied.
"What you doing?" She poked her head into my drawing, as she observed it.
"Oh, just drawing the landscape."
"You're good!" Layla exclaimed.
"Thanks."
I carried on drawing, while Layla watched me.
I wish she'd go away. She's just a part of Katrina's plan. Whatever it is.

-After school-
I whistled 'Boy in luv' on the way home. I had my hands in my pockets, and my ear phones in.
Suddenly a hand grabbed me from behind. One hand was on my mouth.

"Don't.say.a.word." A familiar feminine voice spoke.
It's Layla. I knew she wasn't nice.
I nodded, being the wimp I am, and she led me to a dark alleyway.
It was pitch black, but a single lamp illuminated a small area of the floor.
I started to sweat of anxiety.

She put her hand off my mouth.
"God what's wrong with you??" I shouted at her, "I know what you and Katrina are up to!!"
"Do you?" Layla raised one eyebrow, crossing her arms, "How do you know it involves you miss right?"
"Why would you grab me into a dark alleyway then??" My arms gestured, "What have I done to you or Katrina? I don't get it!"

"Tsk, you don't know. Rude." Layla walked closer to me and put her face near mine. It was intimidating.
"You ruined Katrina's life and you don't even know. Your boyfriend didn't tell you either, did he? How selfish of him."
I felt her breath hit my cheek.
I stepped back.
"What? I don't have a boyfriend. You shouldn't even know him anyway." I frowned at her. I know who she's talking about.

"Oh yes I know him. He loves you now, doesn't he?" She said in a mocking voice and pouted.
"And what's he got to do with you?" I need to protect him.
"Oh, nothing. Stay away from Katrina. I'm her best friend now,"
"Not you." Layla laughed, as she walked off.

What just happened?

Tears started rolling down, as I ran as fast as I could home. Before I faint.
