CHAPTER 7: Hard times

-Melody's POV-
I opened my eyes, and stretched my arms. I yawned. I suddenly remembered. Mum and tessa are gone. No, I can't cry. Mum would be sad, I said to myself.

I got changed into a black and blue fluffy jumper and grey jeans. I don't have time to think about clothes. Dad was in the kitchen. Danielle was still asleep.
"Good morning dad," I gave dad a smile. I have to be strong.
"Good morning melody. Do you feel ok? Your eyes are red," dad frowned.
"Your eyes are red too." I said, looking down at the floor.

"Could I visit Jimin please?" I asked.
"Of course dear," dad replied.
"See you later dad, I love you" I said. Now I feel like 'I love you' is such an important thing to say, to show people you appreciate them before they're gone.
"I love you so much melody," dad hugged me tightly.

I went out the door, it was really cold. I hate winter. Everything is frozen and bitter. Jimin lives 5 mins away from me, so I arrived soon after. I knocked on his door. His parents are on a business trip, so they weren't there. Jimin opened it. His eyes were slightly red. I hugged him.
"Jimin, are you okay?" I held onto him tight. He held me back.
"I should be asking you that," he kindly said. He sounded upset.
"I know we're both not ok but we have each other.We need to stay positive." I looked into his eyes. He smiled.
"Your amazing..." he mumbled.

We went inside.
"Let's talk to each other. It's good to get it all of our chest, right?" He questioned. I nodded.

"Um... Do you mind if I ask you about your brother?" I nervously said, fiddling with my hands.
"I can tell you, since your my best friend," he sadly smiled.

-Jimin's POV-

"Um...Do you mind if I ask you about your brother?" Melody said while fiddling with her hands.
"I can tell you, since you're my best friend," I tried to smile at her - I don't want to be a coward. Melody's mum just died, but I'm still crying over something that happened 3 years ago.

"Me and my brother baeyun were best friends. We would never leave each other's side, and barely had fights. He was a life saver. He stopped people from killing themselves. " I said quietly.
"One day we went to the fun fair, without our parents. They were too busy with their stupid business trips.
We heard an ear piercing scream, and saw men with big guns. Me and baeyun ran as fast as we could, but a gunman was pointing his gun at me. Before I got shot, baeyun jumped in front of me. He held his chest in pain. I remember seeing him on the floor. The gunman smirked. I ran away, and managed to escape." My voice started quivering.

Melody gave me a hug again.
"I'm so sorry Jimin," she sobbed onto my shoulder. She was really crying.
"It's ok." I patted her back.
"Shall we take a break," I asked her.
"Yeah," she wiped away her tears.

-Melody's POV-
We decided to go and see a movie. A horror movie. That would clear our minds for a couple of hours. We drove there in Jimin's car, and when we arrived we got some sweets and popcorn. I was slightly scared, but I like horror movies- the suspense and jump scares.

The movie started. It was called IT. The story was about a clown which hid under beds and killed humans.
I covered my eyes with my hand, I got a feeling that something was going to jump out.
"Are you scared? ," Jimin cheekily nudged me. Suddenly IT jumped out.
Jimin screamed. It was so funny, and cute. I nudged him back.
"Look who's scared now, huh?" I hugged his arm. I feel more protected that way. The rest of the movie was just blood and screams.

Finally, the movie ended. Wow. That was scary.
"Did you like it?" I asked Jimin.
"Uh...Yea?" He said laughing. I don't think we realised how scary it was.

We drove to my house, I asked dad if I could sleep over at Jimin's. Of course he said yes. I got my pajamas, clothes and toothbrush.
"Where are you going?" Danielle said as she came down the creaky stairs.
"I'm sleeping over at Jimin's." I told her.
"I thought he was your best friend, not boyfriend!?" She looked confused.
"What? No!!!" My face went red. Jimin went red and laughed a bit.

We walked out the door to Jimin's car.
