The woman’s body swung softly from the rope attached to the roof of President Snow’s house, his snake eyes admiring his latest victim. He was content. He’d made a major breakthrough that day. Pacing the cobblestone flooring and watching the body sway, he revelled in the knowledge of what he could do next. The Head Gamemaker of that year, Daryl Rhodes, stood nearby, appreciative of the President’s handiwork.
“She squealed?” Daryl asked.
“She squealed,” Snow confirmed.
“She was tough to crack. You’ve done well,” Daryl commented.
“She certainly was. But no one resists me,” the President replied, a small smile playing on his lips.
“Do you wish me to dispose of her body?”
“No. Leave her there a while. I like to see her put in her place,” President Snow chuckled darkly, “But tell everyone to prepare. The second the Games are over, we need to be ready. I know where Raven Verona is. And this time, she won’t get away with her life.”

Raven Verona was giving birth.
