Chapter 5- Two Pieces

Niall Malik had a really happy day.

His second day of school was a hell lot better than his first one. He got to spend more time with Josh who felt guilty about his accident, he aced in his Math quiz, he made some other new friends, but, he was slightly disappointed that he didn't get to see the Tattooed Angel. He was looking forward to it, and even though he knew that the Tattooed Angel wouldn't be so happy to see him, since he did gave him a black eye. Niall thought hard to why would the Tattooed Angel punched him. The only clue was he said “Another Malik brat,”. The possibilities are, the Tattooed Angel thinks he looks like a stuck-up rich kid, or he and Zayn had a history. And judging by Zayn's reactions when he described the Tattooed Angel, he was beginning to worry that it was the latter.

“I still can't believe you're Zayn Malik's brother,” Josh chuckled nervously beside Niall. They're in their final period, Art class, and working on a pair project. They're supposed to make something using their fingers only and not more than five colors. Art is Zayn's favorite subject, and Niall loved watching Zayn draws of colors something.

“And why is that?” Niall asks absentmindedly, as he swipe another blue paint on the canvas with his thumb.

“Well, ummm,...you don't look like him,” Josh answered nevously.

“Obviously,” Niall chuckled at his friend.

“And you certainly don't act like him,”

“Oh? You know my brother?” Niall asks with a genuine smile on his face. At that moment, Josh realize that Niall didn't know what he's brother is really like in school.

“Sort of. He's kinda famous in this school,” He answered halfheartedly, deciding that he should change the subject “So, wanna hang out after school?”

That question caught Niall off guard. He always heard Zayn asking Harry to “hang out”, but he was never invited and he was too shy to asks Zayn. Sometimes, he would scroll through the contacts on his phone just hoping that he would get one, just one friend to hang out with. And now, finally, a person finally asks him to “hang out”, as friends.

“A-are you serious?” Niall asks Josh, his voice filled with excitement.

“Yeah, it'll be great. I just got a car,” Josh replied nonchalantly, his eyes and fingers on the canvas. Niall squealed and tackled Josh, but not too hard.

“Thank you!!” He screamed, causing the whole class to turn their attention to them. Josh couldn't help but to chuckle at Niall's antics.

“You're weird Niall, and that is definitely different from your brother,” Josh ruffled Niall's hair. When Niall looked up to him with a wide grin and his bright blue eyes wide, Josh felt weird in his stomach. But ignored it completely.

“So, I'll pick you up around six yeah? We'll get dinner on the way,” Josh informed Niall. The bell had rung, signaling that the school has ended for the day. Niall and Josh were lazily packing their stuff, not bothering to be quick.
