Quick Note:
I know y'all hate author interruptions during a story but this is extremely important. This book was written when I was fifteen years old and it wasn't that popular. Now that it's growing in reads and stars I'm getting a little anxious. I have been contemplating changing this story around. Turning it into something different. If you are with me please leave a comment on your thoughts. Thank you.
....
The boy in front of us was tall and thin, yet muscle rippled underneath the tight shirt he wore.
His skin was pale and glowed under the moonlight, just like his white blond hair. His cobalt eyes observed us curiously, his lips quirked into a slight smile. He held himself light on his feet, muscles tense, as if ready to attack, like a predator assessing its prey.
He shifted his position, movements slow and careful, as if trying not to startle us. I glared at him, my eyes never leaving his.
"Well well, if it isn't the lovely Grey daughter. And which one would this be, huh?" I spun around just in time to see a shadow emerge from the trees.
Grabbing Aaron's hand tightly, I eyed up my prospector.
"What do you want from us?" I asked feeling the hairs at the back of my neck begin to prickle slightly. I narrowed my eyes at him.
The man remained silent for a few seconds not moving his dark eyes from mine.
"What do you want from us?." I repeated silently, but with more venom in my words.
The man chuckled, flipping his dark hair out of his eyes.
"You want me to let him go?" He asked, humor playing at his words as he pointed a long finger mockingly towards Aaron . "You hear that Shawn, she wants me to let him go.." He spat, glancing behind him to the boy with the white hair who chuckled slightly, not taking his dark blue eyes off us.
I squeezed Aaron's hand as I pulled myself in front of him in defence, Aaron stiffened as he gently pulled me away.
"I never knew Johnathan Grey had a son. Is she your sister?" The man asked, approaching Aaron slowly.
I tensed as he came nearer to us, noticing his height, surely more than two heads taller than me and a but taller than Aaron.
Aaron glared at him, his striking green eyes, piercing holes through the man's soul.
"Don't you dare touch her." He spat, not taking his eyes of him. He was shorter than the man by a bit, but his muscle structure was more prominent.
"Brave mouth you've got there son." The man moved in closer to Aaron's ear. Aaron tensed but broke down slowly as a fist came crashing into his stomach, the man stood above him pulling out what looked like a gun from the waist band of his trousers.
I screamed before launching myself in between the two men.
"We're not related, I promise. He's only a friend, please let him go." I cried before I felt the sharp pain as someone twisted my arm behind my back pulling me to a rock hard chest.
I cried in agony as I glanced up at a pair of dark blue eyes.
"Not related?" The man asked looking from Aaron to me and back again as he twirled the gun menacingly around his finger. Running was definitely not an option now.
"Well then son, you are a free man. Take your leave." He said slapping Aaron on the shoulder lightly, like a friend would before placing an arm out as if paving the way for Aaron.
I could tell he was mocking us by the way his lips tilted in a slight smile. His eyes were daring Aaron to make a move.
I felt Aaron's body tense as he tried to figure out a way to save us. Why did he have to be so stubborn?
"Go, please." I whispered pleadingly, using my free hand to clear the locks of wet brown hair falling into my eyes, it's wasn't Aaron they wanted. It was me. Johnathan Grey's daughter.
"The girl knows best." The man mocked placing a cigarette in between his lips.
Aaron didn't think twice before launching at him, his fists landing horrible crunches in the mans face.
My arm's were freed as the figure behind me leaped forward to try and break the chaos happening before our eyes.
I took this as my opportunity, snatching my phone as quickly as a person with shaky hands could out of my jacket pocket before pressing the on button. I cursed silently under my breath as I realized the battery had run out. How could I be so stupid.
"No, no, no." I looked up to be met by the same pair of dark eyes.
I took a step back into the trees.
The man wiped a hand across his bloodied nose as he stumbled closer to me gun in hand before snatching my phone quickly out of my fingers and onto the the wet grass.
"Don't," he whispered lifting his foot up into the air. "Even think about it," he finished before finally bringing his foot down onto the phone lying helplessly on the wet grass.
I winced as I saw the birthday present my parents had got for me, only two days ago lying in a crumbled mess on the wet grass.
Aaron.
I looked up quickly dismissing my phone shattered on the ground to see Aaron lying on the grass blood streaked down the side of his face.
"Aaron!" I screamed rushing to his side.
That was when I felt it, the sharp pain against my temple, before the world went black...
