ASHLEY'S POV
"Hey, Ashley?" Spoke Ashton through the phone line.
"Yeah, what's up?" I asked.
"My band is coming over today. You wanna meet them?" He asked.
"Sure! What time?" I agreed.
"Right after lunch. They're staying over. You can stay over if you want, too." I could hear the smile in his voice.
"I have a cousin's birthday party tomorrow." I whined.
"Ditch. C'mon, there is no such thing as a good girl." He teased.
"I am a good girl, okay?" I grabbed an apple and took a bite.
"Good girls are actually bad girls that haven't been caught." He said cheekily. "So stay over."
"What if my mum finds out? What am I supposed to say to her? What if she calls your mom and asks if I'm okay then she'll say that I actually stayed over?" I rambled.
"You're such a goody two shoes, it's unbelievable." He chuckled.
"I don't wanna be troublesome to my mom, okay?" I defended.
"Okay. Just come over." He hung up before I could object. I groaned and threw my phone on the sofa in the living room.
"Mom?" I called out. She replied and I followed her voice to the bedroom. She was pinning her hair up into a fancy updo. I gave her a confused look.
"Anne invited me for dinner tonight. You wanna come?" She explained.
"Sure! Oh, and about that..." I trailed off. "Ashton wants me to meet his best friends. Can I stay over?"
"But tomorrow you have the par-"
"I know, but please. I've never had a real friend in a long time." I gave her my best puppy dog look.
She pursed her lips, trying not to give in but then she let out a breath she'd been holding in and I fought back a smirk. "Fine. But only for two nights. Any longer and I won't trust you going over there anymore."
"Thank you, mom! You're the best!" I said, engulfing her in a hug and kissing her cheek sloppily. She wiped off my saliva with a disgusted look on her face.
"Okay. Now go get ready!"
"I will." I said, skipping to the living room to get my phone. I walked upstairs and locked the door shut. I plugged in my phone to the Beats' pill speaker. I pressed shuffle on Spotify and let whatever song play. I turned it up loud enough for me to enjoy the music but not too loud for my mother to complain.
I washed my face and tied my hair up in a messy bun. I put on some eyeliner and just a thin layer of mascara. I put on some chapstick and patted some powder on. I checked my teeth and it was okay. I looked at my nails and saw it chipping off a bit. I should've followed Simply Nailogical and coated the tip of my nail, too. I repainted it and applied the quick dry top coat, sealing the tip as well.
I just wore a floor-length lace maxi dress. I paired it with black heeled boots. My hair was still vibrant and I left it that way. My eyeliner was just a classic wing. I brought along a small bag that matched the tone of my white dress. I tried not to be super fancy but if my mom styles her hair in an updo, we're 'bout to go to frickin' Obama's birthday.
I packed up a duffel bag with things I needed. I'll probably drop off my bag then head off to dinner anyways.
"Ashley?" My mom called, knocking on the door. "You ready?"
