ASHLEY'S POV
I felt like I was floating. I also felt two arms wrapped around me. One was around my shoulder and the other one holding up my knees.
I was moving. I couldn't open my eyes. Then I heard three knocks.
"Hello!" A very familiar voice greeted, but she quietened down soon later. "Oh, poor Ashley. Here, hand her over to me."
"No, she'll wake up. Let me bring her to her room." A male said from above me. "Where is it?"
"Upstairs, second door to your right." She said again. I knew who she was. She was my mother. "Please do not go to the living room. Don't even look."
"Sure, I won't." He said again. I knew who that was, too. Michael. Then I felt the moving again. I felt weird alternate touches on my waist that brushed against his clothed stomach.
Then my back collided with the familiar feeling of my bedsheets. I opened my eyes to be face to face with Michael.
"Oh, sorry Ashley. I didn't mean to wake you, hun." He said, kissing my forehead softly. "Go back to sleep."
"Why can't you go to the living room? Let alone look?" I asked.
"I don't know. Your mother told me not to. I have to respect her privacy. So I didn't." He explained. He leaned in again but then he pulled away instantly. "Wait, you heard them?"
"Yeah." I nodded sheepishly. "I didn't open my eyes."
"You," He booped my nose. I laughed and scrunched my face up like the other day. "Alright, sleep tight. Bye, darl."
"No." I whined. I made grabby hands. "Come back. Sleep with me."
"I can't." He smiled at my neediness. "I don't think your mom would allow me to."
"Ask her first, you fool." I rolled my eyes. He chuckled.
"She's in the middle of a conversation with someone. It seems pretty serious." He furrowed his eyebrows. "
"Conversation?" I sat up and leaned against the headboard. "With whom?"
"I don't know." He shrugged. "With some guy."
"A guy?!" I grew shocked. This could only mean two things. Either she found a new guy she's into or it's him.
Dad.
"Shhh!!" He quickly shushed me. "You're supposed to be asleep."
"No, who is it?" I asked him. I shook my head mentally at my own stupidity. How is Michael supposed to know?
"I don't know." He said. "Look, I have to go."
"No." I said quickly. "I need answers to everything. Why did my mom bail you out? How am I supposed to afford medication? Why did you even get in? I- I- I need explanations."
"That your mother has to do. It's not my place to say." He surrendered and backed out from my room.

"Ashley, wake up." I heard someone say. My shoulder was shook back and forth.
"What?" I grunted, rubbing my eyes and shielding them from the light with my blanket. "What time is it?"
"It's nine thirteen. Wake up." Said a soft and feminine voice. I slowly lifted the blankets off me and looked up. It was mom. She smiled down at me as I looked up at her.
"I don't wanna!" I groaned in a whiney voice, playfully. She chuckled, running a hand through my hair.
"Don't worry, you can sleep in. I called you in sick from work." She said. Her voice soft and calming.
