ASHLEY'S POV
"All set?" I asked for the seventh time.
"Yeah." He nodded as he looked around, before frantically shaking his head. "Nope."
"What is it?" I groaned.
"My guitar pi-"
"I've got them, they're in the front pockets of your suitcase." Before he could ask me why, I answered the unasked question. "I put them there because you said you didn't want to put them in your pocket in case they fell out."
"Are you sure?" He asked.
"Yes! I remember every single moment of me putting them in there." I answered.
"Okay... Then I guess we can leave." He said, dragging his suitcase behind him. His guitar in a backpack-like case, slung over his shoulders. We put everything in the car.
Once all of us were done with luggage and sitting in the car, we started the drive. Luke's mother, Liz, was the one driving us. Ashton sat in the passenger seat. Behind him was Luke, Aleisha in the middle and Calum. Behind them, was me and Michael.
My phone vibrated in my pocket. I pulled it out to see I just got a text from Sean.
Sean was a good friend of mine. We met in junior high and we both had a fling late high school. But then it all kind of ended when he moved back to Ireland and found a Korean girlfriend. They were going strong and they were kinda cute, so I didn't mind. It wasn't as if what we had was serious anyway.
We recently just got back in touch. Sean was just starting up his YouTube career and now had almost 200,000 subscribers. I was very proud of him for actually doing it, since he planned on it since high school. I kept trying to push him and tell him this was his passion and that he wouldn't regret it. But until we lost all contact and he moved so far away, he never did.
Now, however, he uploads videos twice a day everyday. With his college going on and everything, I was pretty surprised how he had the time to upload 15-20 minute videos everyday. I could barely handle 5 minute videos every week.
The text was a simple 'Hey, how are things?'
He knew about Michael and tour and everything. He just didn't know it was today that Michael was leaving.
I texted back 'Good, good. wbu?'
He didn't reply, and I would've been curious about his current condition if we were still in high school. But I learned from there that Sean is the worst at texting back. He would sometimes take up to even an hour to respond.
I sighed, putting my phone back into my pocket.
"Who was that?" Michael asked.
"Oh, uh.." I didn't know whether we were even friends. We barely talk, but we still manage to somehow. "A... Just a friend."
He inspected my face and eyes before he decided to let it go and continue looking at the road outside. I almost let out a sigh of relief but then he said "That's a lot of hesitation."
I bit my lip, not knowing what to say. Why am I even acting so guilty? He's really only a friend. He's got his girl, I've got my man. It's not like we sent nudes or we both were cheating with each other.
"He's literally just a friend." I said.
"He?" Everyone else was so immersed in their own conversations that they didn't notice the semi-argument between me and Michael in the back seat.
"Michael, why are you so paranoid over a friend of mine who has a dick? I'm bi, you should be looking out for vaginas, too, then. But you aren't. Why does this one guy affect you so much?" I furrowed my eyebrows.
