MICHAEL'S POV
It's been seven days since me and Ashley became a thing. I've been thinking of Ashley so much more now. It's just something about her that reels me in, wanting more and more of her.
Just as I got up to do something beneficial with my life, my phone rings.
"Hello?" I call.
"Hey, Michael!" Her voice sounding so beautiful saying my name. That way it rolls off of her tongue makes me melt into a puddle of awe.
"Hey, baby." I smiled at the fact that only I could call her that.
She giggled at someone in the background, telling them to stop. She laughed a little louder, another female laughter joining her. "So, Mike, I wanted to invite you over to my house for lunch."
"And...?" I asked, already knowing there was a catch. I retrieved my jacket, putting it on and fixing my hair in the mirror.
"What? Can I not spend time with the ones I love?" She teased, prolonging the real reason. I rolled my eyes at how adorable she was and how cliché I sounded. I chuckled at her.
"Seriously, babe, what is it?" I ran down the stairs, creating such a thunderous sound.
She paused for a while "Uh.... Maybe I recorded a video...?"
"I'll be there in a sec!" I yelled, hanging up, getting too excited. I left the house after writing a note for my parents, explaining where I've gone. I ran towards her house, eagerly taking extra wide strides.
When I reached up to her house, she was sitting on the front steps, hugging her knees to her chest. Her head was leaned back, her eyes shut. It seemed like she was relaxing. Besides my slightly noticeable panting, it was really quiet. The weeping sound of the wind blowing and the sound of nothingness. It was calming.
I decided not to disturb her. I walked up to her, silently, and sat with my legs crossed in front of her. I looked at how at peace she was. I wouldn't call it staring, more admiring. I was observing. She was so utterly beautiful, and every flaw I spotted on her pretty little face just made her even more beautiful. She was unique. Different. Gorgeous. Amazing. Alluring.
"Stop staring at me, you handsome piece of shit."
I jolted, falling backwards and onto my bum. I swear, she has transparent eyelids. How the hell did she see me? I accidentally let out a short shout, causing her to erupt in laughter. She threw her head back, squeezing her eyes shut.
"It isn't funny." I pouted, staring at the way she had so much amusement from the way she scared me.
"Oh, but it is!" She continued laughing. I brushed my bum off, walking past her and knocking on the door. "I've got a key, dumbass."
I rolled my eyes. "God gave us knuckles for nothing, then, right?" I said sarcastically.
"Oh, come on. It was very entertaining! I was wondering if you were ever going to stop. Because, I mean, either way, someone's going to end up getting scared. I open my eyes and catch you staring into my soul or I tell you to stop an end up surprising you." She shrugged. "It's just the bitter truth."
"Be quiet and stop boasting." I groaned, walking past her after she unlocked the door, slightly brushing my chest against her shoulder.
"Someone's sassy." She pointed out.
"Someone's pointing out the obvious." I said back, stomping up the stairs. You might think I'm overreacting, but I've got two reasons I am. One; I'm a manly man. I don't get scared easily. I shouldn't get scared easily. What would she think of me now? One word and I scream. I'd seem like such a pussy now. And two; she's cute when she's trying to get me to not be so upset. I'll give her the silent treatment, and watch how adorable she is trying to get me to speak up.
