My ears were ringing. For all the years I've breathed and opened my eyes, I've never seen the man who ruined my mother's life.
His eyes, a bluish green, very similar to mine. His skin, dark, the complete opposite of mine. His hair, a dark black. His lips, thick and full, just like mine. Features of me, I can see on him. It freaked me out, how were so different yet so alike.
"Father?" I asked my mom in confusion.
He answered for her. "Yes, and you're my daughter."
"Unfortunately." I said, a split second after he shut his mouth, glaring at him. My eyes held so much emotion, a shiver ran down his spine. "For years and years, I've been wanting to slaughter the man who ruined my mother's life. And I've finally seen him."
"Ashley, you cannot speak to your father like that!" He boomed.
"Who ever said you were my father? Fine, it was you that raped my mother and unfortunately, my mother got pregnant. But you never fulfilled your role as a father, did you? You didn't pay child support, you didn't even check to see how I was doing. You never gave a single flying fuck about me or mom, so why are you now crawling back to us? What, women don't want you anymore? Well, you got that right. Mom hates you, I hate you, everyone hates a person like you. Actually no, hate is such an underestimation. I despise you. With the burning passion of a thousand suns." Once I was done, I was out of breath. My fists were clenched beside me. He tried to stifle his laughter, but failed completely.
"Are you taking drama classes? You're exceptionally good at acting!" He encourages.
"If I was, you wouldn't know. You wouldn't care either, right?" I hissed. I crossed my arms over my chest. I snuck a quick glance towards my mother to see her trying to hide her smile.
"Honey, you-"
"Do fucking not call me 'honey'." I spoke through gritted teeth. My mom accidentally chuckled but covered it up with a cough.
"Watch your language!" He said, attempting to be all fatherly.
"I bet you curse as well. Screaming all kinds of words I don't know when your favorite football team loses. I am so angry right now. The only thing that's hurting my head besides this raging hangover, is you. Why are you here? You were thinking with your dick and haven't got off in a while so you're trying to seek pleasure from my mom? Huh? Is that what you're here for?" I took a step towards them.
"What is the matter with you?!" He asked, stepping towards me.
"Edward, please." She stepped towards me, blocking me with her small posture. In any other situation, I would've laughed at her. But instead, I furrowed my eyebrows at this man who claims he's my father. "Don't bring her into this."
"You raised a worthless son of a bitch. All she is is useless. It was a mistake looking at your faces, it just ruined my entire week. Bet Ashley doesn't have friends, right? 'Cause she's a fucking mistake. Nobody would want a mistake like you. I don't even understand how I made you, I regret ever having you. You're such a disgrace!" He yelled, pushing my mother out of the way and to me. His left arm raised and it looked like it was about to come down and make rough contact with me. I barely flinched, but I did.
"Edward!" My mom screamed, gripping his wrist mid-air. "No matter how much shit you put me through, I will not ever let you lay a single damned finger on my daughter."He chuckled, snatching his hand back. "Fuck you two. I wonder how stupid I was to see something in you."
"'Was'? You mean 'are'!" My mom retorted. It was lame, but she was angry and she needed to let it out.
