(Warning: Feelz! :l )
I sat down criss criss beside him. I leaned forwards some to look at his face.
"Herobrine?" I asked. No response. He looked deep in thought. "Hero?"
He snapped back to reality. He gave me a confused look, I gave a concerned one in return.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
"Um...it's nothing." He sighed, shaking his head, his hair flopped back and forth.
He grabbed something in his bag and brought out some food. I took some bread, an apple, and some steak. I'd see him glance over to me every now and then with that same expression.
But it wasn't all quiet. We talked back and forth. He told me the hostile mobs of the overworld won't hurt me when he's around me. But the ones in the Nether won't at all.
"Why is that?" I asked, tilting my head to the side.
"I don't know, I'll have to ask my brother about it." He chuckled.
"Are you two close?" I smiled. I turned my entire body towards him. He looked so calm with his legs swinging over the edge gently, leaning back to lie on his elbows. He chuckled.
"Not for a long time, but we are at least not complete enemies now. Although he loves pulling the 'Mind reading' shit."
I giggled. It reminded me of my brother, but in reverse. We were best friends until he grew up. He's smile fell again once he looked at me again.
"Herobrine, you keep making that face. What's wrong?" I asked calmly. I put my legs over the edge and lied on my back, the cobblestone felt so cool.
He turned to face me, leaning over me slightly. He knew it and I knew it that there was no point in hiding it, I know something's bothering him.
"How did your mom die?"
Fuck.
I don't say that often, but this was a good enough time as any. I sighed, staring at the stone ceiling to our little paridise.
"When I was little I wanted to be an adventurer so I took with me a wooden sword and ran into the forest to prove the point to my older sibling."
"Why them?" Herobrine asked, annoyed with the mention of them. I find his hate for what they did to me sweet. Or stupid, either way.
"Believe it or not, I use to be best friends with my brother. Sure he had other friends but we were very close."
He shrugged and shut up, waiting for the rest of the story.
"She ran in after me and it soon got dark. Mobs surrounded me but my mom came in and helped, but got badly hurt in the process. Halfway home she couldn't walk anymore but I stayed with her till she died."
I sat up, no longer in the care free happy mood I was in when we came. I pulled my knees to me and hugged them. He scooted closed and put and arm around my waist. I lied my head on his shoulder, and laughed softly as tears started to fall.
"Heh, I remember what we talked about after her legs gave out. We talked about how she met dad....she met him when they were kids. She was a poor girl and he convinced his dad to let her stay in the castle. As a little girl I found it.....magical."
It went quiet as the story ended. I guess I couldn't take it anymore and busted into tears. He picked me up and put me in his lap. I cried and he held me close.
...it was nice.
~~~~~~
We were walking home. It was nice since he agreed to wanting to just walk the long way home. His hand was intertwined with mines as he had his usual 'I don't give an F' attitude.
I didn't mind. I smiled up at the sky. So many stars.
"So, what where you going to ask the other day?"
I was so calmed that it came out that way, without fear like I actually wasn't a shy twat.
"Can I trust you, Hero?"
He seemed caught off guard by this, even stopping both of us in our tracks.
"I'll believe any answer you give me."
He seemed to think it over for a while. We stood in silence, our hands no longer together. Did I hurt him? Did I do something wro-
"Nope." He shrugged.
"Reason?"
He smirked and took my hand, holding it up between us. He leaned down and kissed it softly. I blushed up a storm.
"Because you never know what I'll do for my queen.~" He said in a deeper voice, I felt my heart skip a few beats as he got back up and we started walking again.
"Asshole." I mumbled.
"Bitch." He mumbled back.
We shared a smile, and continued home.
