I look up from my phone to find Sabir looking at me intensively. He is sitting cross legged on the sofa next to the one I was with a game controller in one hand and his phone in the other. I decide to stare back at him, turning it into a staring competition.

Just when I'm about to win, I hear a loud coughing fit which makes me lose concentration. "You two need to get married, I can't handle this tension," Wahid says, causing Sabir to laugh. I look away feeling embarrassed, before sending Wahid a death glare.

"Wahid, control your tongue. Sabir is our guest here, treat him with respect," Maa says but I can see her eyes twinkle with amusement. I go back to scrolling through my phone again.

Unknown: You look so cute habibti

I look up again from my phone, this time finding Sabir and Wahid being competitive with a car game.

Me: Who are you?
Unknown: your secret admirer
Me: I wouldn't call that admiring, you sound like a stalker
Unknown: nah
Me: who are you?
Unknown: You'll find out soon
Me: Give me a clue?

"Sabah," Sabir whispers, poking the side of my tummy, making me squirm and jump away from him. I look up to see his face plastered with a lazy smile, his eyes crinkled and he watches me.

"Uhm yeah?" I answer back, quickly getting off my messages app so he doesn't see the text messages. I look back up to him and now his smile was gone.

"Are you okay?" He asks, his voice filled with concern.

Hesitating, I try to look anywhere but his eyes. He can't be the unknown, I tell myself.

"I'm okay,"

He watches me again carefully before slowly nodding, then his smile returns back onto his face. He puts his hand on the back of his neck whilst looking down on the ground, then pulls his eyes to meet mine whilst biting the side of his lips. He's nervous and for some reason that makes me feel like something bad is about to happen.

"Sabah, I was um... I was wondering if... If you'd like to go out and have lunch with me... If thats okay with you, I asked maa and she's fine with it."

"Maa?"

"I mean your maa."

Sam won't be happy if you say no, I hear an annoying voice say in the back on my head.
