I groaned and turned around.
I turned towards a bright source of light which chased away my sleep and caused me to wake up.
I opened my eyes but shut them right back again due to the stinging sensation of the light.
Gradually my eyes got used to the brightness and I opened them fully this time.
I'm usually always disoriented when I first wake up, so naturally, I was confused when I got up but then I looked around for a minute and I realized I still had no idea where I was.
"What the hell are you doing on my bed?" That came from a voice beside me which caused me shoot up from the bed I was lying on.
I turned to look at him.
He had sat up leaning against the head board which caused the duvet to fall and bunch around his waist.
He was rubbing his temples slightly.
Then he looked at me.
His eyes were back to normal now, just a cold icy blue.
I was just standing there staring at him like some deer caught in headlights.
He brought me here, didn't he?
"Please, get out of my room." he said and shut his eyes again as he applied more pressure to his temples using his palms.
He said please but it still came out quite rudely.
I just turned and rushed out of the room, barefoot and all.
I shut the door right before I heard a loud growl from behind me.
I let out a breath.
Well, that was awkward.
I walked down the stairs quickly wanting to get out of the house as soon as possible.
"Well good morning dear." I stopped in my tracks and turned around.
"Latifah." I said.
She was sitting by the bar with a cup of tea in hand smiling warmly at me.
"Come here sweetheart." I walked over to her and she got up and gave me a hug.
"You guys up already?" She said as she pulled away.
"Huh?"
"I mean you guys looked pretty cozy this morning when I came in, I really thought you would be gone for two more hours or so." she laughed slightly.
She looked way too cheery for my liking, she actually looked,... hopeful?
I didn't say anything. I didn't know what to say exactly.
Just then the sound of a door opening and closing was heard.
I turned.
"Ugh! What the hell are you doing here?" The 'she devil' spat at me. Cassandra.
As if I was glad to see her.
"Nice to see you too." I said giving her the best fake smile I could muster so it would be obvious that I'd be happier to see a goat walk through that door than her.
I did notice the quick flash of shock and guilt on Latifah's face.
Yeah, I know she's alive. Sadly.
"Who the hell let you out? And why are you here?" Cassandra asked walking closer to me.
"She has every right to be here." Latifah interjected taking a step in front of me.
"Shut up old hag, I wasn't speaking to you." Cassandra spat at Latifah.
"Don't speak to her like that." I tried to defend her. Now I was taking the protective stance in front of Latifah.
Surely if she didn't respect anyone, at least she should respect the Alpha's mother.
