As soon as we got home Damon left again almost immediately.
He left without saying a word, he just escorted me back and took his keys and left.
I assumed he was going on a run again because he didn't even bother to change his shorts, but then again, he did go with his car...
Maybe he's going far?
I sat at the kitchen counter, eating virtually all the fruits I could find. At the back of my mind I had decided that I should start eating healthy for some reason.
Call me paranoid but I didn't feel like taking my chances this time.
I wanted to make better choices.
So I was in the middle of my second pack of chocolate covered strawberries when the door opened.
-Me saying I want to make better choices, doesn't mean that I'm actually good at making them-
Mavis walked in with Sarah closely behind her and they had their hands full with shopping bags that were crying to be recycled.
No, honestly, the bags literally had 'Recycle me' written on them in green.
They had obviously gone grocery shopping and brought some of the items to stock our fridge and kitchen cabinet.
The pack was quite large, so it was only economical and wise to grow most of what we need right here. So the stuff we did not have here had to bought from the town nearby. A trip was made into town every couple of weeks for food items we don't grow here. They'd go with quite a number of food trucks to load the stores and supermarkets here. I think it's safe to say that we consumed a whole load of food here.
I've followed Rose and some of the other cooks along with Mavis to get groceries in town before, and that's when I realised that these wolves can really eat.
The groceries they bring to the Alpha's house also baffles me at times, I mean we're barely two to three people in this house most times, and yet they bring food like we're fifteen people here.
I helped them pack the food stuff away and then proceeded to eat my fruit.
I did feel a slight headache coming on so I decided to drink two full glasses of water as well.
It unfortunately didn't have the effect I was expecting.
"What's wrong Adriane? You don't look so good." Mavis said while she sat by me and stole some of my strawberries.
As usual.
"Just a slight headache that's all. I guess I'm just a bit tired." I said rubbing my temples in an attempt to reduce the pressure I felt there.
Sarah immediately walked over to me and started placing her hands all over my head, specifically my forehead.
I guess she was trying to see if I was hot, maybe down with a fever or something.
Leave it to adults to always fuss and exaggerate.
I felt fine, just a little headache, that's all.
"Your temperature feels fine. You want an ibuprofen or an Advil or something? We also have some paracetamol, I bought some today, but I'm not sure if we brought it here, it might be back at the pack house." She said while rummaging through her bag and some of the empty plastic bags lying on the counter.
"No, it's fine thank you." We had lots of painkillers here in the medicine cabinet as well. I just didn't like taking them. And I kinda hate swallowing pills.
Only when it's absolutely necessary.
Sarah sighed when she was finally certain that she had, in fact, left the paracetamol back at the pack house, after emptying her entire purse on the kitchen counter that is.
"Then allow me to make you some of my special tea. It will help you relax. Maybe you just need some rest."
"Oh yes please." I actually smiled at the thought. I loved the tea, it tasted really good and made me feel all warm and tingly in my belly.
To me it tasted like a mix of Fennel and Chamomile tea, but when I mentioned that she just laughed and said I'm no where near.
