Grantaire could play the piano like no man's business. His favorite song? Hallelujah by Leonard Coehan. Everyday, after the meetings with the ABC, he would come home and tap show tunes to himself. He'd defy gravity in living color, on his own, and sing to his Angel of Music-Enjolras-but he's not there. "Enjolras, sing for me," he laughed to himself, looking across the cafe. Downing more and more bottles of beer, Enjolras ended up carrying him into his car and driving him home. "You're here, you're finally here. My Angel of Music is here...The seven wonders, they can't compare to you..." Grantaire smiled and sang, very drunk, began to tear. "You're crazy." Enjolras tucked him into bed and left a tablet of alka-seltzer on his nightstand.
