Chapter 1- Community Service & Bacon

"Ava, wake up. I gotta go.", my boyfriend Geoffrey said shaking me.

"Why are you waking me up, then? I don't have to go with you.", I replied, pulling the blanket back over myself.

"'Cause," he looked at me with his puppy dog face. "I was hoping you'd make me breakfast, mi luz."

Yeah, of course, he adds a cute pet name and a cute little face and expects it to work on me.

I rolled over in the bed. "Ugh, what time is it?"

"8:35."

"What time do you have to leave by?"

"9:15"

"Make yourself some cereal then.", I groaned.

"But, Ava..."

"What?"

"Please?"

"No."

Geoffrey sighed. "Fine." He sulked out the room.

I laid there for another ten minutes, trying to get back to sleep, but it was no use. Once I was woken up, I usually couldn't fall back asleep.

I sighed and reluctantly got up to use the bathroom, get changed and all that good stuff.

I came out to find Geoffrey grudgingly eating a bowl of cereal in the kitchen. Most girls would've freaked out to find Prince Royce in their kitchen, but not me.

His mouthed dropped open when I entered the room. "Really? You were gonna get up anyway?"

"Well, if somebody didn't wake me up..."

Geoffrey looked down. "All I wanted was some breakfast."

"All I wanted was some sleep.", I replied.

Geoffrey looked even more guilty. "Well, you had to get up for that school thing anyway.", he said, trying to defend himself. That was true. I had dropped out of school last year and the only way for me not to get held back was completing a virtual course over the summer.

I glared at him, knowing he was right. "But, if you weren't getting into fights all the time you wouldn't have to get up all early either." Ever since things were settled in court between us and Anthony earlier in the summer Geoffrey had to complete two weeks of community service for an assault charge, while Anthony has to spend a decent amount of time behind bars for assault and rape.

Geoffrey raised an eyebrow. "Don't go there."

I shrugged. "Shouldn't have woken me up." I opened the fridge looking for something to eat. Spying a pack of bacon, I placed it on the counter in front of Geoffrey.

"Really?"

I smirked and winked.

He rolled his eyes and couldn't help but smile. "You'll pay later."

"Ooh, I'm so scared.", I said sarcastically.

"I got you, Ava." He sighed and checked his watch. "Guess I gotta go now."

"Alright. Deuces."

"You know, I usually get a hug and a kiss."

I kissed him on the cheek. "Better?"

"Well, I would've preferred a kiss on the lips."

"We don't wanna do anything that would make you late now." I winked.

Geoffrey smiled and shook his head. "Ava, what am I gonna do with you?"

Yes, the first chapter! I have returned, my lovelies. Yes, it is quite short but understand that I have to get back into the flow of the story and stuff. Just wanted to give y'all a little taste of the story. 😉
