*Avadele's POV*

"Promise me you'll call if you need anything, Ava. Anything at all.", said Bryan, giving me a hug.

"I will. Thanks again for all the help.", I said as I hugged him back.

"You're welcome. Guess I'll see you at school then?"

"Yeah, see you at school."

I went over to my car and put all my belongings in the trunk. It's not like I had much at the moment, all the rest of my stuff was back at the apartment.

The apartment...I still had the key, maybe I could swing by to pick up my stuff when Geoffrey wasn't home.

I decided to drive by my old apartment complex. I went in to the parking lot that corresponded with the building and checked all the filled spots. I didn't see one silver Mercedes there. Just my luck, he wasn't here.

I made my way up the stairs and quietly unlocked the door, just in case he might have still been there. When I entered the apartment I felt like I hadn't been there in forever, even though it had only been a day and a half.

It looked the same as it did when I left but something just felt off when I was there, I couldn't really put my finger on it.

I was gathering my clothes when I came across a picture of me and Geoffrey when we were younger, in my  first day of second grade and his first day in third. That was the first day we met. I sighed as I placed the picture back on the nightstand and continued to get my stuff.

*Flashback/Narrator's POV*

"That's no fair!", the girl shouted as Thomas touched the soccer ball with his hands. "In soccer you use your feet. That's why you guys always win, because you cheat.", she said with a pout.

"Or maybe you're just loosing 'cause you're a girl, Ava.", snickered Thomas.

"What do you mean?", Ava asked with her hands on her hips.

"Everyone knows that girls can't play sports.", chimed in Thomas's friend, Jonathan.

"Oh yeah?", questioned Ava.

"Yeah!", the boys yelled in unison.

Ava, at a loss for words, didnt know what to do. She finally settled on the first thing that came to her mind.

"Take that!", she yelled as he kicked Thomas swiftly in the shin.

"Hey, you can't do that!", cried Jonathan as he stared at his friend crying on the ground.

"Oh, you want a turn too?", asked Ava, giving him an equally as powerful kick.

Ava continued to walk away in victory until she was taken by a teacher.

Across the field, a young boy named Geoffrey was busy daydreaming. He had seen the whole incident and was trying not to laugh at what had just happened when the teacher sat Ava down next to him for time out.

"Hi.", Geoffrey said, trying to make conversation with the girl.

"Hi", Ava grumbled. She had her head down with her knees pulled to her chest, she seemed sad, so Geoffrey decided to try and make her feel better.

"What they were doing wasn't fair.", he said to her.

Ava looked up a little. "I know, how come I'm the only one that's in trouble?", she sighed.

Geoffrey thought for a moment, and sighed himself. "I don't know...maybe the teacher was jealous of your soccer skills.", he said with a smile.

Ava giggled a little. "You think so?"
