Chapter 29- Its a...

*Avadele's POV*

I swear Geoffrey loves playing with my emotions.

Every time we try and talk about the baby he just goes and makes me want him.

"I'm going to a doctors appointment in a bit.", I told him. For a change, I was over at the apartment this time. It felt a little weird being there, I hadn't been there since me and Geoffrey broke up.

"What for?", he asked, pretending to be absentminded and playing with the collar of his shirt. I swear he was doing it on purpose.

"A checkup... ultrasound. I get to see if it's a boy or girl today."

A smile came to his face. Even though this was tough on both of us, I could tell he was a little happy at the fact he was becoming a father. It wasn't an ideal situation, but it was an exciting experience. "If its a girl, we'll know she'll be just as beautiful as her mother."

He was doing it again. "Geoffrey , stop trying to win me back.", I got up and Geoffrey was close behind me.

"Ava..."

I turned around. "What?"

"You need to stop."

"Stop what?"

"Running from your emotions. You still have feelings for me. Even though you don't want to because what I did was wrong.", He said, tucking a piece of my hair back and letting his hand linger for a minute.

I sighed as I searched for something to say in reply. "I..I I have to go now, Geoffrey.", I told him, slowing taking his hand down.

He looked down for a minute. "Alright, good luck."

*Prince Royce's POV*

She still loves me. There's no denying it.

I watched her leave and I gave a sigh once the door closed. I never would've thought in a million years that my best friend would be carrying my child.

...Or ex-best friend. Whatever it was, it was complicated.

Even though she didn't say anything I knew she still cared about me.

I didn't want to seem conceited but I knew damn well that she wasn't quite over me yet.

Jerry came over for a little bit so I decided to break the news to him. I hadn't told him yet and I had no idea how he was going to take it.

"Alright, so you got a girl pregnant. Jut don't mess up again. Congrats, man.", He said pretty calmly.

I was a little surprised at his reaction. "You're not shocked or anything?"

"Nah, why would I be? you constantly have girls all over you. it was bound to happen at some point. I just wanna know who the 'lucky lady' is."

"My ex-"I was about to answer him when there was a knock. I went to go answer the door and it was Ava.

"How did everything go?",I asked.

She smiled a little as she stepped inside. "Pretty good...oh, hi, Jerry.", She said waving to him. "It's been a while." (They met a few times before I became famous.)

"Hey, Ava.", Jerry said. He kept looking from her to me with this surprised expression on his face.

"I...uh....". She leaned closer and whispered in my ear. "I found out what the baby was."

I nodded towards Jerry. "He knows."

"Oh alright.", She said in a normal tone. She smiled as she got ready to deliver the news. "Well, it's a healthy baby boy."

I smiled as I have her a hug. "That's amazing, Ava." Even though I would've been happy either way, I was secretly hoping for a son."

"Congratulations." chimed Jerry, with that same expression on his face. Why was he so shocked all of a sudden?

Ava stayed for a little while longer to catch us up on the appointment. And i took it all in. I was going to be the father of a baby boy, i kept thinking happily. A bit later, she had to leave. I walked her out to her car, I was going make sure that i kept an extra watchful eye on her now, now that this was all so real. I had to make sure she stayed safe.

"Be careful out there.", I said as she got ready to get it.

"I will. You don't have to worry."

"I kinda do. My world is in this car. You and this baby are my main priority right now."

"Whatever, Geoffrey.", She said, as she got in the car. I could tell she was trying to blow me off, but I wasn't about to let that go. I took her hand causing her to stop for a minute. "What now?", she asked in an annoyed tone.

"Look, Ava. Now that you're pregnant, you're gonna be seeing a lot of me, whether you want to or not. Now you can either come to terms with yourself and admit you still have feelings for me or keep them all pinned up inside of you."

She seemed like she was at a loss for words. "Geoffrey... wE're not going to get back together. I told you that.", She said after a while.

'And I'm not asking to get back together. I'm asking for you to just be honest about how you feel about me."

"I...", she took a deep breath "I don't know, Geoffrey." She blinked and I could tell tears were threatening to form."

I instantly felt bad. "Look, Ava...I didn't mean to put you on the spot like that. I know you're hormonal and all but all I'm trying to say is that if you're trying to forget me at this point, it not gonna work."

She attempted give a smile as she got back in the car. "I know... it's just that I need time to think."

I gave her a kiss on forehead. "You can have all the time in the world, Ava."

"You got HER pregnant? Avadele?", asked Jerry once she was gone and I came back upstairs.

"Yeah...is something wrong?"

"You never even told me you two were dating. When the hell did this all happen?"

I gave him an explanation of all that went down since last summer.

The surprise on his face didn't really go away. "Damn... y'all two been through some shit together, Huh?"

I nodded.

"Whatever happened to 'just friends'?"

I shrugged. "That got lost somewhere down the line."

He thought for a minute. "She still has feelings for you... I can tell."

I sat back and smiled with satisfaction knowing that I wasn't the only one who thought this was true.
