"So, what exactley should I wear to this 'date'", I asked Geoffrey, after I got home.
"Something easily accessible.", he said with a wink. "Easy on, easy off."
I gave him a "you better be playing" look.
He put his hands up in false surrender and laughed. "I'm joking. Just something comfortable. It's only me. You don't have to go all out when it comes to dressing up."
I eyed his suit and tie. "But look at you."
He looked down at his apparel and frowned. "Yeah, I guess I should change too, then."
"It's only fair.", I said.
I went to my room and settled on changing into a plain white t-shirt and jeans. I came out to find Geoffrey made the same decisions too.
"Oh, no.", I said, looking him up and down. "We are NOT gonna be that matchy-matchy couple."
I went back to change into a cream blouse. Ugh, this couple stuff is hard work, I thought jokingly.
I came back out to find Geoffrey standing by the door with his arms crossed, but he had a slight smirk on his face.
"What?", I asked. .
"I kinda like when we match. It's cute.", he said innocently.

"I kinda like when we match. It's cute.", I told her.
She rolled her eyes playfully and grabbed her bag. "Whatever. So, you ready to go?"
"I've been ready.", I said grabbing her hand and leading her to my car.

I was surprised I didn't crash the car at all, the drive there. I found myself looking over at Ava, more than once, obsessing over her beauty.
She didn't seem to notice, though. She was busy staring out the window, in deep thought.
"You alright?", I asked her.
She seemed to snap out of her trance. "Oh, yeah. I'm fine. It's just...this place feels familiar. Like a place I used to go when I was little..."
I smiled. I had been waiting for her to say that.
"Where exactly are we going?", she asked.
"I'll give you a hint. Check under your seat."
She reached under the passengers seat of the car to retrieve the rose I placed there. Her eyes seemed to light up when she made the connection. "You mean...?"
I nodded and smiled. "Yep. And we'll be there in a few minutes."
I pulled up into a rocky gravel pathway and that's when Ava's memories came flooding back.
"Oh my god. The rose garden? I haven't been here in years..."
"I haven't either."
"Since we were..."
"Thirteen.", I finished her sentence and she nodded. "Stay here." I said as I got out of the car. "I'll text you when it's time for you to come out." I gave her a smile as I left to go finalize everything.

I sat and waited in the car as I watched Geoffrey disappear with that sneaky ass smile on his face.
After a few minutes, I felt my phone vibrate. It was a text from Geoffrey:
U can come out now :)
