Chapter 4- Prometeme, Geoffrey

Exhausted from our trip to the mall, Rachel and I crashed on the couch.

"You've been gone all day.", said Geoffrey, once he entered the room. "I missed you." He kissed me on the forehead, which resulted in blushing from me and daggers from Rachel.

"It's only been a few hours..." She grumbled. I nudged her. She shot me an evil look. "Guess it's my time to go." She stood up. "Bye, Ava. Text me." She gave Geoffrey a halfhearted wave.

Once she left, Geoffrey sat down next to me on the couch. "What's gotten into her?"

"I don't know. But I need to find her a boyfriend."

Geoffrey thought. "Well, I have plenty of single friends.", he offered, trying to help. I appreciated the effort, but I knew if Rachel were here she would've took it as offensive.

I considered this, then I sighed, knowing that it probably wouldn't work. "But she's picky. I don't know how that's gonna work."

"She'll find someone soon.", he assured me. He put his arm around me and pulled me closer. "Just give it time."

"Alright." I wasn't fully convinced. I laid my head on his shoulder. My eyes moved to the calendar on the wall. Three more weeks till summer was over and four more weeks till I had to start at that dreaded school I thought I'd never have to see again. I groaned.

Geoffrey looked at me, worried. "Everything okay?"

"School in four weeks.", I said in a depressing tone.

It was Geoffrey's turn to sigh now. "Ava, just don't stress about it too much, okay? The less you worry the better things will be for you because you won't waste all your time worrying about things going perfectly. So promise me you won't worry?"

"Can't really make any promises..."

"Okay, well can you at least try not to worry as much?"

"I'll try." I said, still not encouraged.

"Guess that's the best I'm gonna get.", said Geoffrey. "But oh well."

My vision still lingered on the calendar. Just then a thought came to my mind. "Hey, Geoffrey?"

"Yeah?"

"Isn't it funny?"

"Isn't what funny?"

"It's funny how all this stuff went on this summer, and we still have so much of summer left to go." This was true. Both of us had landed in the hospital. Geoffrey got into two fights. I broke up with someone and got with Geoffrey. I lost my virginity, got raped, and we went to court...all the short period of time since summer started.

Geoffrey looked at me. "This summer was probably the most memorable summer of my life."

"And we still have time left."

Geoffrey smiled. "More time to make memories with you."

"Don't you think we've made enough?"

"I could never make enough memories with you. There's always room."

"Really?"

"Really."

"Promise?"

"Promise."

"Promise you'll hold me?", I asked.

He pulled me even closer to him. "I promise."

A smile came to me. "Touch me?"

"Only if you want me to."

"Love me?"

"Of course."

"Way past forever?"

"Always, Ava-", he smiled. That's when he seemed to get the joke. "You're a mess."

"But you love me.", I said, snuggling closer. If I was any closer to him I'd crawl into his soul.

"I'll love you way past forever." He smiled. He kissed me.

And at that time, kissing him, I finally felt carefree this summer. I felt like everything was going to be alright. Who cares what Rachel thinks?, I thought to myself. Maybe she just felt some type of way about Geoffrey and was trying to steer me clear of him. But everything was gonna be alright,I kept telling myself, don't worry.

I didn't know how wrong I was going to be.

This is gonna be a long behind authors note. So bear with me.

Yes, guys, I know this chapter was probably boring and short. Don't hate me. 😓. I just wanted to give you guys something cuz I got a slight case of writers block.
