Chapter 19- Man To Man

*Prince Royce POV*

I always felt like I was in the dark, like I was lost, And Ava was my flashlight.

I was In a dark world now.

Being famous, being known...it's a blessing. I get to live out my dream. But it's also a curse. How can you find true love when you're adored by thousands?

I had money, I was famous but it prevented me from staying true to Ava. Or finding love at all

I think that's part of the reason I lost Ava. If I wasn't a singer, I wouldn't need a record label. If I didn't have a record label I would've never met Amanda. If I never met her I never would've taken her out to dinner, managed to get alcohol in my system...

But it's still your fault, I told myself. .

And I knew that. God, I had to go get my mind off of things.

I got in my car and decided to go to the little coffee shop where Ava worked. It was Saturday and she worked on weekends, but I was pretty sure her shift was over. Hopefully I didn't run into her. But secretly, I kinda did want to see her again.

*Bryan's POV*

I thanked the cashier for my coffee and went to go find a table to sit at. I decided on sitting at one of the barstools at the front counter.

I heard the bells jingle as the front door open "Oh my god! Prince Royce.", I heard a girl whisper excitedly in a hushed tone.

I turned to see that Prince Royce was, in fact there. The guy who broke Ava's heart was breathing the same air as me. As much as I wanted to go off on him for hurting Ava the way he did, I decided against it. He sat one stool away from me and I took a sip off my coffee in an attempt not to say anything.

"Could I get an iced latte?", he asked the barista. She nodded and quickly got to work on his order. After she handed him his drink he gave her the money. "Keep the change.", he said in a sad tone.

I finally couldn't keep quiet anymore. "Hey, uh, you're Prince Royce, right?"

"Yeah...", he said. "You got a little sister who wants my autograph or something."

"No...I was just wondering. Did you used to date Ava?"

His eyes got big. "Avadele Mata?"

I nodded. "Yep."

He sadly nodded. "We just broke up. Wait, you know her?"

I stuck my hand out for him to shake. "I don't believe we've ever met. But I'm Bryan, Ava's friend."

*Prince Royce's POV*

"...I'm Bryan, Ava's friend."

The guy introduced himself as I shook his hand. Wait, this was Bryan. The guy who was getting all buddy-buddy with Ava? Why would he want to talk to me?

"Oh...", I said quietly. Then a thought came to mind. "Wait, do you know where she is?"

"Well, she stayed at my place for a couple days..."

"Yeah?", I asked eagerly.

"...but she left. She left today. She went to go stay with someone else. I didn't want her to go but it was her choice."

Damn. "Do you know where she went?"

"I don't know if she'd want me to tell anyone..."

"Come on, please."

He sighed. "I'm doing this only because she seems kinda lost without you..."

"So where'd she go then?"

"To Christina's...I dunno who that is but that's what she told me..."

"Do you think she'd mind if I just turned up?", I asked.

"Probably. She's really torn over all this..."

Wow, I really messed her up if other people were noticing. Ava was really good at keeping her feelings to herself. "Damn...thank you though.", I told him, getting up.

"It's nothing...I'm just doing this for Ava'a benefit, you know. 'Cause I care about her."

Not more than i do, i thought. I felt like he had some sort of pent up feelings towards me. "I understand.", I told him as I was almost at the door. I didn't care if she hated me right now, I needed to see her.

"Oh, can I ask you a favor?", he called before I left.

"What?"

"Just make sure, no matter what you do, do me a favor and make sure you don't break her heart again. Her love for you...it wasn't a joke, man."
