Just another girl (chapter 1)

I woke up early this morning, the sun was shinning and the birds were chirping. I could tell today was going to be a good day.

I went downstairs to have breakfast. "Morning Ashley, did you sleep well?" "Yes thanks Sandra." Sandra's my mums best mate. I live with her because she adopted me. My parents both died before I was three and my mum asked Sandra to look after me.

I ate my breakfast slowly as I didn't have to get ready for collage because it was a Saturday. I didn't start work until 11.30 so I had plenty of time to go and have a shower. Sandra's son Jamie normally takes a shower in the mornings but he was at his mates house so the shower was free!

I walked up the stairs and reached into my Laundry basket and took out my work clothes. My skirt had a few marks on it but no one would see them because my skirt was black. I walked quietly past Andrews door trying not to wake him. Andrew is Sandra's other son. Him and Jamie are identical twins and they are three years older than me.

After I had taken my shower I quickly walk to my room hoping no one would see me with my hair all soggy and wet. Just as I was about to open my door I heard my name being called. "Ashley, is that you?" It was Andrew. "Come here" he said softly. I turned round and walked straight into his room. He was sitting on his bed running gel through his hair. "Do you want a lift to work later" he said smiling at me.

"Yeah sure, if that's ok" I replied

"Yeah it's fine, Jamie wanted me to pick him up so I thought I could drop you off at the same time" he said still smiling at me. He wouldn't usually take me to work its only because he wants to see Jamie.

I went back to my room and quickly did my hair and makeup. By this time it was 10.30 and I would have to leave soon else I would be late for work. I ran into Andrews room telling him we had to leave. Slowly he stood up and followed me down the stairs. I slipped on my black stilettos and picked up my mobile. Andrew picked up the car keys and walked to the car. "Bye Sandra" I called just before shutting the front door. "Have fun at work" I heard her call from inside. I quickly walked towards the car. As soon as I had got in we were off.
