Ashton // 1957

I woke up this morning to the sound of Velma laughing. it sounded of perfection and I could listen to it all day, of course I had a job though so I knew if I wanted to I couldn't. When I went looking for her around the house I found her in the living room, on the phone with someone. She looked very interested in the conversation, she saw me though and soon after she hung up.

"Good morning Velma, have you eaten yet?" I asked sitting on the couch near me. As she nodded.

"Ashton, I have a date tonight with someone and their security will be there. So you have today off. They'll be here at eight, so til then I'll be getting ready." She said as I nodded watching her walk off. The clock read 2:30, I don't understand why she cared so much. In my opinion she's stunning on her own without having to fix herself up. I spent the remaining time working on an old car I had found in the back until it was around 6ish. Then I went back in showered, grabbed a book, and waited for Velma's date. The door bell rang at around 7:50ish and then Velma walked out in a stunning dress, her make up looked like it took a good while to be perfected. Absolutely gorgeous. Then the door was opened and there stood not a boy a full grown man who looked in his thirties.

"Ashton this is Ricky, Ricky this is Ashton my care taker." Velma said her voice changed and it was way more refined.

"Nice to meet ya kid, I'll have her home before ten I promise." He laughed and then they left. That night Velma came home late and after some days it was obvious something in her had changed. Could it be that it's just because of vacation or was he doing something to her? I made promise to take care of her and that's what I'm going to do.
