Ashton // 1957
We arrived to Los Angeles around sun down and then Velma's  chauffeur came and picked us from the airport.
"Ashton, you're going to love Los Angeles. It's great here, and I mean Hollywood is a must. Oh and we are going to take you shopping for new clothes. Then i'll introduce you to Marilyn and oh joy it's going to be grand!" Velma squealed, her refined voice going an octave higher due to her excitement. When we reached her home the sun had gone down and it was around nine at night. She showed me to my room and then let me get settled in. My room was quite big compared to my room back home in Sydney. The walls a cream color and a simple king size bed with a golden bed frame. The room was quite fancy. After unpacking and all that, I went to go explore the house. As I walked around i looked outside some windows and noticed a huge garden outside with rose bushes, a path and other things that one would find outside. I kept walking and found a library, an indoor swimming pool, an office, and the living room which connected to the kitchen, where Velma was at. She had changed clothing and was cooking. Oddly enough she was listening to race music, which for a girl like her I was taken aback. She sang along to the song and continued chopping vegetables then tossing them into a pan.
"Having fun there?" I say as she jumps back a bit giggling at my appearance. Then she playfully slapped my arm
"Oh you, well i'm just making a quick dinner before bed well because we've been on plane all day and you know we haven't really eaten and-"
"That sounds lovely, thank you. Do you need any help?" I ask cutting her off from her nervous ramble, she gives me a quick smile at my interruption
"Well, could you set up the table please? The plates are in the cabinets above me and the forks in the drawer to my left." She said pointing to the items as I nodded grabbing two of each. I walked to the table and put down all the plating, then I heard the music being turned up and an Elvis song came on, to which Velma pulled me away from the table and we started dancing. Her laughter filling the room as we danced around. It was the most fun i've had in quiet a while. After our small dance session we ate and talked about what we'd do tomorrow. I had to remind myself that I was her care taker and I had to make sure she was okay and well alive. Then we headed to bed soon after and with that thoughts of tomorrow swarmed my mind.
