Vanoss's P.O.V
"Hey, guys!" I exclaimed. No response. "ARE Y'ALL DEAF?!" I shouted. "What?!" Tyler shouted back. "You have to come see this!" I shouted again. They walked into room from the kitchen to see what I was talking about. "Wasn't a fire after all," I commented.
BREAKING NEWS
"This is Johnson reporting from the edge of town," A dude in his late twenties declared. "We now have more information about a disturbing smoke 'tower' that happened right where I'm standing!" He paused for dramatic affect. "It's a HOAX!" He practically shouted. "That's right, a Hoax!" He waved his arms all around him, and the camera panned around in a circle. "Come see yourself, there is nothing here that could ever make a smoke tower so big as the one many people reported! There's no remnants of a fire, there's not even any wood in sight!"
At that point, I turned off the TV. I was about to say something, but I noticed Mini was unusually pale. "Y'alright, man?" Tyler looked at him, concerned. He ran upstairs without a fucking word, confusing the hell out us. "What's with him?" Del asked.
He suddenly came back down with his letter from Shadowmist. "Guys, Misty said that we would know if the center opens, and it's at the edge of town! The smoke tower could have been a signal that it was open and that we should come!" He explained. When he had decided to start calling his stalker by her first name I don't know. Lui raised and eyebrow. "How do you remember these things?" Nogla looked skeptical, but Tyler got uncharacteristically excited. "He's right, it may have been a signal!"
At that point, the only thought in my brain was fuck it, why not?
"Come on, we got to check it out! I shudder to think what they'd do if miss the 'grand opening'." I said sarcastically. We ran to my car and realised that all six of us would not fit. Only three could fit in the back. "I call trunk!" Wildcat suddenly declared. We snickered but since their was seemingly no other solution, let him squeeze into the trunk. "There's a six foot five man in my truck." I declared. I took a second to absorb this.
"If we get pulled over by the police, don't fucking move," I finally threatened him before slamming the door shut. All you could hear from the trunk was muffled laughter. Suddenly Tyler shouted, "Remind me to cross off, 'Getting kidnapped consensually', my bucket list!" We laughed, but Mini just rolled his eyes. "That's not even the weirdest thing on their. And you should see what he's already crossed off it." He pounded the back of the seat to get Tyler's attention. "I STILL DON'T KNOW HOW YOU HAVEN'T BEEN ARRESTED YET!" He shouted. Tyler shouted back, "NEITHER DO I!"

"Guys!" I declared. "We're here!" The guys got out and I popped the trunk. Tyler rolled out like a slug and landed on the ground with a soft "Oomf." He mumbled, "Give me a minute, my legs are cramped in ways I didn't know we're possible," We sniggered and left him there. Mini waited by the car. "If he just lies there someone might think he's a dead body and try to feed him to some goats or something." We all raised our eyebrows, including Tyler, who was still face down in the dirt. "What?" He asked. "You know kids these days."
We just left them be.
After a good 7 minutes of searching, Lui called out, "There is a note on the ground over here, behind this barrel!" I ran over with the rest of them and read it quickly.
