I came to and found myself chained up, hanging by my wrist to where my feet were no longer touching the ground. I looked around the dark room and wondered where I was. I looked down at the dried blood on my shirt. The metal cuffs on my wrist were tight as they held my full body weight up off the ground. I struggled a little, feeling myself swing from side to side.

"Dammit," I grumbled. I kept on, seeing if there was a way to get out. I prayed Nicki had gotten to the precinct in time. At least she would still be able to testify. I heard commotion outside and then a shaft of light peaking through the left farther end of the room away from me. I could peek at the silhouette of the stair case. I was guessing I was in a rather large basement. Footsteps clambered down the stair case as Gavala gave a sly look, smirking at me. I glared at him...how I wished looks could literally kill at the moment.

"Well, well, well....Look who we have here. If it isn't Detective Janet Jackson of L.A.P.D. It's an honor finally meeting the woman who has been ruining my business for the past 5 years," I stayed silent and continued my struggling.

"No matter. I have what I want now...but I wonder if you know," he smirked, turning his back to me.

"Know what?" I asked through gritted teeth. He turned his head back to me and laughed. What the hell was so funny?

"I'm guessing that's a no," He snapped his fingers and one of his men went back up the stairs. It didn't take long for him to come down and My anger boiled. Nicki was yanked along. Her hands tied in front of her and tape over her mouth. She struggled as she fell to her knees and caught eye contact with me. She tried to say something, but I couldn't understand her.

"Let her go!" I shouted kicking out. My wrist and arms began to throb, but I had to free her.

"You know she tried getting away...but failed miserably...didn't you?" He grabbed her cheeks and she frowned at him, but I could see the fear in her eyes. She moaned and groaned as I could tell the ropes were tight on her wrist.

"I think you two should talk now...before I put a bullet through your head," He smirked, and left us both guessing who he meant. He ripped the tape from her lips, she cried in pain.

"Ow!" She shouted. They walked out, slamming the door shut.

"Janet...I'm sorry...I tried to get away. I don't know how he found me,"

"It's alright Nicki," Her tears were flowing down her cheeks. She began struggling. She stood up and walked over to me slowly. She looked at me.

"What do we do?" She asked. I wanted to wipe the tears from her eyes.

"Don't worry...I'll figure something out,"

"Janet I have to worry! You heard what he said! Once he gets back, he'll put a bullet in one of us! I-I don't want to die J!" She cried. I wanted to hold her, kiss her.

"Nicki...stay strong ok...put your arms around me,"

"Bu-But I can't," She said while showing me her bound wrist.

"Slide them from my feet up to my waist," She did so and squeezed me gently. I wasn't very high up. She sobbed a little, hugging me tight towards her.

"J...I -I'm so scared...I don't want to lose you,"

"You mean..."

"Yes...I love you too...I really do," Nicki said as she looked in my eyes. I began to shed some tears as well.

"I-," I heard the knob jiggle, Nicki took that as a sign and slid her hands from around my waist. She sat back in her spot, never taking her eyes away from me. Gavala stepped back down, he noticed the tears on both of our cheeks.
