"I want that girl!! Now!!! He shouted in his office of his pent house suit in Phoenix. His men had their heads low and hands behind their backs in an submissive state.

"We nearly got her sir...but that detective got in the way,"

"Well then the next time, you shoot that bitch and bring the other one to me...I want her alive," He grabbed another beer from the fridge and gulped it down a quarter of a way.

"But I thought you wanted her dead sir,"

"Oh I am going to kill her...I just want to do it in person," He chuckled. he snapped his fingers, and the men dismissed themselves, leaving him to gaze out the balcony to the sunset view and the tallest building in the city gleaming, basking in it orange rays.

Sadly, our peace was short lived. Nicki and I have grown closer to each other, but every time she comes out of the apartment, it's another threat. I won't let her get hurt. I all honesty, she's a good girl and she shouldn't have to go through this. It's nearly half way to June, and the court date is still undetermined, since Gavala can't be found anywhere. I was watching the news, and waited for Nicki to finish getting ready. We were making yet another dangerous trip to the precinct for another meeting with Houston. I really didn't want anything to do with the Feds anymore. They let this happen, knowing full well she would have been safer just staying here. She walked out in grey sweats and a black shirt with the Misfits from Gem and the Holograms on it. She looked exhausted and tired. I could see it in her eyes. They were droopy and didn't show much light.

"Another rough night?' I asked...we were back to square one...either a shake of the head or a nod, not a word coming from her lips. I stood, grabbing my things, and readied my gun.

"I'll tell you when it's ok," She gave a small nod and waited while I went out and searched. I nodded her over and we went down the stairs and into my car. An escort was beginning to become too risky, no matter how many times we switched car brands. She sat in the back. I drove, glancing at her every so often to see her just staring out the window. I couldn't blame her for this. She was now at a point where she didn't care. We made it and Walked in, everyone still bustling and hustling as usual. Captain approached us.

"She's in my office," Nicki didn't look up or around like normal. She kept her head down, not saying a word. We entered the wood paneled room and Whitney. along with. I'm guessing her boss, sitting around the desk. Nicki sat with me on the other side of the room. there was silence between us, Captain walking into the room, The look on his face told me he knew the tension in the room was thick.

"Alright well...This is my boss, James Bandwin, He wanted to speak with you both on something rather pressing," Nicki stayed silent, looking at her hands, held together by her intertwine fingers on her lap.

"You know this is what, the fourth time we're risking her life to talk to you? What's so pressing that we have to risk her safety?" I was a bit fed up with it. Whitney and I both started in the academy, but she wanted to be higher on the totem poll, and sure enough, she became apart of the FBI. Me, L.A.P.D, from traffic cop to patrol, skipping up to detective.

"Well, We are in agreement that Ms. Maraj is supposed to testify next month correct?" Said the grey haired man. He wore brown framed, rectangular glasses that framed his face well. His cheek bones slender and nose at a slight hook with pale skin wearing a suit of black. We nodded, Nicki silently, crying. No one else heard her, but I did. She wanted this over faster than I did.

"Yes....now what is your point?" I asked.

"We need her out....as a decoy," This time she looked up.
