"So," Claire emerged from the porch ajorning her bedroom into the kitchen "still too much blood in your coffee system?" Claire giggled. "I am not sure I can ever get passed that one," Claire shook her head "coffee system" Claire poured a coffee and sat at her spot at the table completely unprepared for what was to happen next.
Gary spoke "I got up an hour early today," he smiled "so no we're free to talk for about another hour anyway." Gary explained before taking a drink of his coffee "I have to make a few deliveries this morning." After taking a drink of his coffee "what exactly would you like to talk about?" Gary asked.
Claire was dumbfounded, having been used to being shrugged off by Gary in the morning "I, I am not sure. I've been here for a few weeks now and there is someone back in London that I would kind of like to let know that I am alright." Claire shrugged and took a sip of her coffee "he was the only person in the entire city other than my faking it brother who even tried to be nice to me and I blew him off as if he were just another of the sidemen wierdos." Claire looked at Gary as if she needed his approval, expecting a response.
After a moment of silence Gary broke the barrier "I don't know what to tell you Claire, you're a big girl. I am certain you can make your own decisions, you decided to fly around the world to take a job with strangers that you've never met before." Gary took a drink of his coffee "Now this sidemen group you talk about, they're nothing we need worry about are they because I am known not to be the most tolerant person when it comes to my family and trouble makers, you Claire I would consider a family member at this point." Gary took a drink of coffee "kind of like a little sister."
"Awe thank you big brother" Claire moved closer to hug Gary "I could just kiss you."
Gary backed away "Naw, I don't have enough coffee in me for that." Gary removed two apples from the crisper and tossed one to Claire "A little, annoying sister." Gary smiled, winking at Claire, causing her to fumble her apple, then laughing at her also before biting into his fruit. "Only remember the contract. You are here for just over another thirty five months before you get a six week holiday, at which time you can choose to renew or do otherwise and give your notice within the first two weeks of your holiday."
Gary poured himself and made up another cup of coffee to take outside with him to have with his cigarette. "I need to get ready now, is there anything else?" Gary started putting on his outdoor apparel.
"No," Claire responded "I think that's all I needed to hear and no they are nothing to worry about as far as I am aware." Gary went outside to have his cigarette and coffee and get prepared for the day. Claire found her cell and brought up Josh's contact info, thinking of what to text. After staring at the screen for at least half an hour all she could come up with to text was 'I'm safe, if it matters'. Throwing her cell phone onto her bed Claire shed her clothing and jumped in the shower.
Gary went next door to see if John was ready, John met him at the steps to his place "Ah yeah, I got all packages ready. Thirty seven, right?" John closed the tailgate and turned back "I only need get three more."
"No you don't," Gary called to John "I only asked for thirty four!"
John turned around "I guess that is it then." Looking over at Gary enjoying his coffee and smoke "Where is mine?" John asked.
"In the coffee pot," Gary remarked "want to get me a refill too or would you rather just go get this delivered first?" Gary asked.
"Let' go get this delivered first" John replied. "We'll have plenty of time to have coffee when we return from Edmonton." Gary agreed and the two climbed into the truck and drove away to go and deliver the produce.
Back at Gary's, having coffee and going through the days earnings, Gary gave $1250.00 over to John for the use of his truck and his part in seeing this venture through to being a success, setting aside in an envelope $1, 300.00 to pay Sylvia for bringing those customers to him. Gary banked $3, 440 from this morning's sales and $800 was put in the kiddy for expenses and running money. The next delivery date was set for another three weeks from this date to the same customers. Tomorrow was another sale, though it was much larger as it consisted of all extra inventory. Gary was to make a handsome amount of $54, 530. This inventory cleanout sale was to happen on a quarterly basis, every three months.
"Ah" Gary sighed seated at the table across from John, Claire was serving them both coffee and a dessert she'd made up while they were out. The babies were in the livingroom keeping themselves entertained and Andrea was just making her entrance into the kitchen from the hallway after showering.
"Hey good looking," Andrea wrapped her arms around Gary, giving him a kiss on the cheek "how did it go' did you bring me home any money?"
"Sure thing beautiful" Gary replied, how much do you want?"
"All of it," Andrea said seductively rolling herself onto his lap, looking directly into her husband's eyes "you can keep tomorrow's haul."
Gary kissed his wife on the lips "you got a deal, our portion of it anyway" Gary handed over the cash. Turning his attention "hey John, can I borrow $40.00? I was just looted" they all laughed. Focusing again on his beautiful wife "Are you going to take me somewhere fancy tonight' babe?"
