Always That Way

When you looked up and met his eyes your heart stopped for a second. It always happened that way with Gabe. There was something about his blue eyes and his shy smile that melted your insides and made your heart race.

Gabe put his tools down on the damp grass and wiped his hands on his muddy jeans. He was already moving toward you and you wanted to run to him, but you held back and let him come to you.

When he stopped right in front of you, he stood looking down at your face, his eyes moving from left to right. His smile hadn't dimmed a bit. It was always that way with Gabe. His eyes told you everything that was in his heart. And you knew in his heart how much he loved you.

When you could no longer stand it, you slipped your arms around his waist and lay your head on his thick chest. His arms moved around you and he pressed you tight to himself. The feel of his body against yours was so wonderful you thought you might cry.

"I still can't believe you said yes to me." Gabe interrupted your quiet moment.
"I know. I was pretty sure I was going to say no, but then that yes suddenly popped out of my mouth." You looked sideways at Gabe to see if he was smiling at your joke. He was.

Gabe knew that you wanted him from the minute he said hello to you for the very first time. His smile and his laugh had grabbed your heart and hadn't let go. Now, three years and two kids later, it was still the same. He was just as sexy to you as on the day you met. Your mother-in-law was always happy to take the kids for an overnight so the two of you could be alone. And this was one of those nights.

"I know how the evening will end." Gabe whispered in your ear as his soft sideburns rubbed against your cheek. "But how would you like it to start?"
"Hold me just like this and make me laugh." You slid your lips along his jawline until you had pulled back and were looking in his eyes.

"Where do pencils go for vacation?" Gabe's blue eyes danced with anticipation as you considered his riddle.
"I give up." You didn't want to waste time even trying to guess. You wanted what came next.
"They go to Pencil-vania!"

You laughed out loud as he picked you up in his arms and began walking with you to your cabin. Your laughter turned to desire as he continued to grin at you and then he leaned in and kissed you deeply on the mouth.

Your heart began to race and the heat from his body made your insides stir with desire for him.

But then again, it was always that way with Gabe.
