Two Points

Your heart was pounding and your mind was whirling. What was taking Gabe so long? It had never taken him this long to come back from a hunt before.

You knew this was different. It was an alpine hunt and it was much more dangerous because of the hilly terrain. And Gabe was always the one to do the heavy lifting and it scared you sometimes. He loved it and he was the first to volunteer to be the workhorse for the family. But you were the one who rubbed his tired shoulders and kissed all his tender spots until you could feel the tight muscles soften under your hands and your lips.

It was already dark and you had kept the cabin warm and well lit. You wanted him to know you were still awake and waiting for him. You didn't dare get in the bed yet. It was too soft and you were too sleepy and you didn't trust yourself to stay awake if you got too comfortable.

You adjusted the belt on your short silky robe and paced from the front window to the wood stove one more time. Your feet in the fuzzy socks made a gentle shuffling sound on the wood floors as you walked. One more sip of tea should keep you awake a little bit longer.

As you lifted the kettle off the stove to warm up your tea, you heard the sound of approaching footsteps outside the cabin door. Mingled with the sound was Gabe's voice calling to his family in the night.
"More, guys." He spoke softly.

The tears sprang to your eyes before you could stop them and you quickly replaced the kettle on the stove. You used the back of both hands to try to wipe your tears away before Gabe could see them. You didn't want him to know you worried about him. But he was eager to be home and Gabe had pushed his way through the door before you could completely dry your tears.

Gabe's tired face lit up in a happy grin when he saw you but a small frown etched his brow when the light from the fire lit up the tears on your cheeks.
"No. Don't cry. No." Gabe dropped all his gear at the door and ran to gather you in a gentle hug. His arms were light around you but you wanted him to hold you closer.
"Squeeze me, Gabey." You whispered into his ear and you pulled him tight against you. Gabe tightened his arms around you and you felt him pressing hard against your body. His face was buried in your neck, and his chest and hips were crushed to yours.
"Oh, yes." You moaned and smiled and began to dot kisses along his neck and jaw, rubbing your fingers through his damp curls. Your soft body pressed so close to his that you could feel every muscle and he could feel every curve.

When Gabe suddenly pulled away and looked at you, there was such a look of surprise on his face that you had to laugh.
"Is that robe all you're wearing?" He dropped his eyes and looked down at the thin material covering your naked body. His hands went to the belt of your robe and began to pull it away, but you placed your hand on his, stopping him.
"Yes. But I don't want to be naked alone. I was hoping you would..."

Before you could finish your sentence Gabe was pulling at his jacket and toeing off his work boots. You took a step back to get out of the way of his flying hands and you giggled as his shirt, pants and the rest of his clothes went flying. With one hand, he wadded up his white tank top and tossed it toward a nail on the wall where it caught and hung securely.
"Two points!" He held up one hand for a fist bump.
"Nothing but net!" You agreed as your fist met his.

By the time he had finished undressing and had slung you over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes, you were both laughing so hard you couldn't catch your breath. Tossing you gently on the soft blankets on the bed, Gabe moved himself gently beside you, finally sliding the soft robe off your shoulders. With a big smile, he wadded it into a ball and tossed it across the room, landing it expertly on the back of the chair.

"Two points." He moved his face close to yours.
"Nothing but net." You agreed as your lips met his.
