Chapter 13

Chapter 13:

The car stopped at the house she thought she'd never see again. She took her seatbelt off and got out of the car.

"Thank you. Let me go inside and get you something for everything you've done."

"Miss, I can't let you do-"

"No. I have a lot of money for doing nothing. Let me give you something for helping me come home." He nods his head as Sammy walks to her front door step. She knocks on the door.

"Coming! I'll be out there in a second!" Summer yells. She opens the door without looking to see who it is and runs back to her room to grab her bags. Sammy walks in confused yet relieved. She inhales the smell of her house deeply.

"Um...if you could help me with my bags, that'd be" Summer's eyes meet Sammy's. "Sa-Sa-Sammy..." She gives her speechless face

"Mom!" She runs towards Summer who's also running towards her.

"Baby!" Summer screamed. She wraps her arms around Sammy's shoulder and the back of her head. Sammy wraps her arms around Summer's waist. "Sammy! Sammy!"

"Mom, I missed you so much!"

"You don't know how much I missed you."

"Mom, I'm sorry! I'm so sorry!"

"For what sweetie?" Summer looked into Sammy's eyes.

Sammy stays quiet and leans her head on Summer's shoulder while hugging her even tighter than before.

Lauren finally came out of her room and went to the kitchen. She grabbed a strawberry poptart and sat on the couch, grabbing the remote and turning on the tv. She flicks through channels to see if there's anything remotely interesting on tv, but can't find anything.

Lynol's door opens and Lauren sighs as she watches Lynol escort some random chick out the door.

"I had a great time." The random chick said. Lauren arched her eyebrow.

"I bet you did." Lauren whispered.

"Me...too." Lynol gave her a fake smile. "Bye." He shut the door before walking over to the kitchen, getting a bowl of cereal, and sitting next to Lauren on the couch.

"Good morning." She sighed once more while still flickering through channels.

"Hey." He took a bite of his cereal. "You okay?"

"Do I look okay?" She looked at him.

"Honestly..." He looked at her. "No."

"Well, that's because I'm not. Last night...Skylar blatantly told me he was using me."

"You want me to beat him up?"

"Nah."

"You don't hate him...do you?"

"I should, but I don't. Because, no matter how cruel he put it...he was still honest and didn't wanna cause me anymore pain."

"Wow." Lynol clenched his jaw.

"But, there's only one thing from the conversation we had yesterday that bothers the crap out of me."

"What?"

"He told me I didn't understand his love for Sammy and how big of a betrayal we committed... because I've never been in love." She bit the insides of her cheek before exhaling. "I have been in love...once. And, I'm still in love...with him."
