Chapter 6

(Violet’s POV)

It’s 6 AM, but I’m the least bit tired. I let Tony continue sleeping and I sneak out of the room. I go to the kitchen and grab a beer from my Dad’s secret stash.

I open the front door and walk outside while drinking a nice cold beer.

Suddenly, I hear sobbing and someone hyperventilating. I follow the sound and see a drenched Samantha Fields sitting at the front porch of her house. I run over to her.

“Samantha, are you ok?”

“No. I’m not ok. What do you care? You never liked me.”

“It’s not that I didn’t like you. I just didn’t want to let go of my old life. I wasn’t ready, or I didn’t want to let myself be ready. I’m sorry for being a bitch when all you were was nice to me. Can you forgive me Sammy?”

Her dimples grow as she smiled wider at me. I couldn’t help but smile back at her.

She hugged me tightly, as she let the rest of her tears shed. I comforted her.

Today, I saw a different side of Samantha. I didn’t see the girl who has to be perfect in everyone’s eyes. I saw a vulnerable girl who needed someone to comfort her.

“What’s wrong?”

She looked at me and froze a second.

“Um…a guy I really liked doesn’t want to be with me anymore.” She stared at the ground.

“If he doesn’t wanna be with you, it’s his loss. He’ll regret it because you’re an awesome girl. And, when he does he’ll be fighting for your heart.”

“You think?”

“I know.” She hugged me.

A cough interrupts us.

“What a beautiful moment?” Skylar said mocking us.

We both laughed.

“Hey Sky, you should take Sammy out. She needs to have a good time, so I think you’d be the right person to take her for a good time.”

“Aw thanks Viol. Sure, I’ll take Sammy.” He hands out his arm to her, and she willingly takes it.

“Can you come with us?” She asked.

I stared into her sad eyes.

Tony walks out of the house.

“Good morning babe.” He kisses me on the cheek.
