Chapter 21

Chapter 21:

(3rd Person POV)

Sammy woke up from her alarm. She looked adjacent to her and Skylar was nowhere to be found.

"Sky?" She called out.

Skylar came out of the bathroom with his toothbrush is his mouth. He was fully dressed.

Sammy was shocked. "You're ready...without me?"

"I put the alarm clock back an hour behind, so you can rest. I have a morning shift at the café as well now, so does Violet. We agreed to get there early so we can be there on time to finish up the café before our boss sees it, because we never finished yesterday. We got tired." He made a tired expression, and smiled.

"Oh...ok-but I wouldn't have mind going early for you."

"I know babe...but I want you to be rested to the point where you're more than rested. Remember, you have you're monthly check-up on Friday with Dr. Pena."

"That isn't the only thing I have to see Dr. Pena for." She looked at the floor.

"What're you talking about?" He sat on the bed, while brushing his teeth.

"Lynol signed us up for a DNA test for the twins." Sammy's eyes began to get watery.

"If you don't feel comfortable, you don't have to do it. You know that, right?"

"I do, and I don't want to do it...but I have to." She moved her knees towards her body and held onto them.

Skylar put his toothbrush in his mouth and grabs her legs, and pulls her closer to him. She screams and giggles at the same time. He took his toothbrush out of his mouth and kissed her all over, as she laughed harder.

Skylar parks his car, and runs into Crestville Senior High, and makes his way to the café. He spots Violet who's already started cleaning up.

Violet hears him panting. "You finally made it, huh?"

"Yup." He grabs a broom and a dustpan.

"So, how's Sammy?"

"She's fine. Apparently, Lynol's signed them up for a DNA test on Friday. I'm going with her." He scratched the back of his head. "You should come for support."

"Yeah of course." She smiled as she cleaned the tables. "So...who do you think's the father?"

"Unfortunately, they're not mine...but I think they're Christophe's, at least I'm hoping."

Violet gasps. "What? Why?"

"Because it's finally dawned on me since the brunch that if the twins are Lynol's, they'll be a lot of drama and tension."

"And what? There wouldn't be any drama or tension with Christophe around? I mean he's made it pretty clear he wants Sammy back."

"The thing is..." He sat down on a chair as he dusted the floor. "I know she won't leave me for Christophe. This may come as a surprise, but I'm not sure if she'd still want me if it's Lynol's."

"Why? Why're you more threatened by Lynol than Christophe when Christophe was her first love and was her first time, and Lynol was just one of the guys she loved?"

"Because...her and Christophe split on their own terms, but Lynol dumped Sammy because she lied about who she was. If she hadn't lied about her identity or maybe not even tell him, they'd still be together right now. I know that for a fact." He combed through his hair with his fingers.
