"Look mom I'm really sorry for sneaking out. I won't do it again I promise!" I frantically threw out. The shadowy figure stood up and started walking towards me. All of a sudden the person started laughing hysterically. I could recognize that laugh anywhere.
"Kristen!" I yelled. "What are you doing here?"
She tried to speak but couldn't because she had to catch her breathe. "Oh..." she paused. "Oh my goodness Kelsey you should have seen your face. You were so scared!" she busted out laughing again.
"Well yea I thought my mom had just caught me for sneaking out." I walked past her and kicked my shoes off.
She finally settled down and walked over to me. "Well it's just me so are you gonna just stand there or come give your cousin a hug?" she reached out and wrapped her arms around me. I hugged her back and smiled. I hadn't seen her in a while so it was nice to see her face again.
"So what are you doing here?" I asked.
"Well I just came down to visit you guys for about a week or so until I go back to school."
"Yay!" I smiled and hugged her again. "So how did you get into my house?" I pulled back and raised my eyebrows in confusion.
"I just got here about an hour ago and your mom let me in. She said that you were upstairs sleeping so you should probably go to your room and get out of your party clothes." She smirked and looked down at me.
"Well I guess that's where you where?"
"Oh Kristen I have so much to tell you. Come to my room."
She grabbed her stuff and followed me upstairs. I laid down across my bed and she laid beside me.
"Okay, spill it." She demanded.
I smiled and began to tell her the whole story. When I finished, she was in a state of shock.
"So let me get this right. You snuck out to a party with drugs and alcohol with you friend but when you got there she left you, then you started smoking with some pothead guys..."
"I didn't actually smoke, I just inhaled a little bit out of someone's mouth." I smirked.
"Same thing!" she continued. "So then the cops came and you and these twins almost got arrested, but they knew the cop so you were fine, and then they started to take you home when they had to make another stop. So at this stop you basically got abducted and threatened because these twins owe some guy money for something you don't even know about?" She looked at me weirdly.
"Yup. And it's only the first day of school." I said as I got up to change into some pajamas.
"Well Kelsey it looks like you have gotten yourself into some serious shit."
I rolled my eyes and pulled the tank top over my head. "Tell me about it."
"So you are meeting these boys tomorrow afterschool?"
"Yes."
"Well good luck." She got off of the bed and walked over to my door. "Get some sleep kiddo. Your really gonna need it."
"Thanks." I said smiled and threw myself back on the bed.
"Goodnight. Ill see you in the morning."
"Goodnight Kristen."
She shut the door and walked out. She was right. I did need to get some sleep because I'm pretty sure I was not ready for what Derek and Justin had to tell me tomorrow.
I set my alarm, closed my eyes, and tried to get the full 3 hours of sleep that I had left. Tomorrow was going to be a stressful day.....
