I drove as fast as I could to the store to pick Avery up. When I got there I pulled in front of the building and immediately got out of my car. I walked in and started looking everywhere for her. I didn't see her anywhere so I decided to ask the sales clerk if she had seen any sign of her.

"Excuse me miss, my friend just called me from this store from an unknown number. You don't happen to have seen her anywhere have you?" I asked as I walked up to the counter.

"Umm....I saw a girl out back using the pay phone but other than that I haven't seen anyone."

"Okay thankyou!" I yelled as I ran out the front door. I turned the corner and ran around to the back of the building. I saw the phone but I didn't see Avery anywhere. I walked around the whole building but there was still no sign of her.

I went back to my car and checked my phone to see if she had tried to contact me anymore. There was nothing.

All of a sudden someone jerked my passenger door open and got in. Looking the body up and down I realized who it was.

"Avery?!?!?" I yelled.

"Kelsey..." she replied. She was very groggy and she bobbed her head as if she was having a hard time staying awake.

"Avery!" I yelled as I grabbed her arm and shook her. "What's wrong?!"

She looked horrible. Her hair was all tangled and messy, her makeup was smeared, and she was wearing the same clothes that she had on from the party the night before.

I continued shaking her until finally her head popped back up.

"What?" she yelled at me.

"Where have you been? And why are you in the same clothes?" I tried to get a response but she put her head back down as if she was about to go to sleep.

"I'm calling the ambulance Avery."

This got her attention and she snapped her head up. "NO! You cant."

"Why not"

"Kelsey please. Can we just go back to your place or.....or something" she struggled to get her words out.

"My parents are home and I know for a fact that they will call the for help."

"Just please...." Was all she said before she laid her head against the window and shut her eyes.

I knew that I should call to get her some help but she really didn't want me to. I didn't know why but I did know that I had to get her somewhere. I put the car in reverse and started driving. I didn't really know where I was going but for some reason my mind did. I guess I started following my GPS again because I found myself at Derek and Justin's house.

I got out of my car, ran up to the door, and knocked as hard as I could. About 10 seconds later Justin opened the door.

"Hello gorgeous.........Kelsey what's wrong?" he could sense the panic on my face.

I pointed to the car and he followed my finger. "Avery is in the car. Something is wrong with her. I need your help please Justin." I pleaded.

He saw that she was slumped over in the passenger's seat and started running to help her. "Derek!" he called out.

Derek came to the door and saw me standing there. "What wrong?"

Before I could answer, Justin called out to him.

"Come here man." He had the door open and he had begun to pull Avery out of the car. Her head was slumped over and I could tell that she was unconscious.

Derek ran over and grabbed her head as Justin grabbed her body. They both pulled her out of my car and rushed her inside. Once in, they placed her on the couch, propping her head up with a pillow.

"What happened?" Derek asked as he looked up at me.

"I don't know. She called me from this store up the road and told me to pick her up. Her words were all slurred and when I told her I was going to call the police she freaked out on me told me not to."

"Hmm I wonder why." Derek said as he scratched his chin.

"I know why" Justin said. Me and Derek look at him, waiting on his explanation.

He pointed to her arm and looked up as Derek. "Look at her arms."

"Oh shit." Derek said as he walked over to her.

"Can someone fill me in?" I asked.

"Look at the bruises on her arms. She's been doing some type of drug."

"What? Avery would never do drugs. That's not even like her."

"Kelsey I know what drug needles do to your arm and your friend has been doing them." Derek replied.

Before I could argue back, Avery gasped for air and she pulled her hands up to her chest. Her eyes rolled to the back of her head and her body started convulsing.......
