I pulled into my usual parking spot at school and got all of my stuff together so I could get out. I was so tired of school so I was glad that it was finally Friday. This year, school was defiantly kicking my ass.
All of a sudden, someone jerked the passenger's door open. I jumped and covered my mouth quickly to keep from screaming.
"You should really lock your door." Derek said as he wiggled to get comfortable in the seat.
"You really really knock on the door first!" I screamed.
He looked over at me and gave me an intense look. "Really?"
"Yes Really!" I moved my hands down to my chest and tried to breathe normally.
He continued staring as I looked back at him. All of a sudden, we broke into a laughter and kept it going for a good while.
"So how are you on this fine Friday?" he asked after settling down.
"Terrible! I'm ready to get it over with. I need to weekend to get here like, now!"
"Yea same." He said as he looked down. "So umm...this will probably make it even worse but I decided just to tell you anyways. I'm not going to be at school today."
I looked at him with big eyes. "What? Why? Wait what do you mean, you are here right now."
"I'm just meeting Justin because Brian called this morning and he has a job for us to do. He said that we can probably get a majority of the money paid back with just this one job."
"That's great! Wait isn't the money due tomorrow?"
"Yup...but if we get this done, I'm sure I can borrow the rest of the money from somewhere."
"Oh okay I gotcha."
The first bell rang, and I grabbed my stuff and opened my door. Derek got out of the car and started walking over to where Justin had parked his truck. I followed in behind him until Derek stopped and turned around. "What are you doing?"
"I'm going with you today."
"No the hell you aren't."
"Uhh..yea I am. I'm not going into that school by myself so Rebecca can just do little things to piss me off again. Plus I don't wanna be alone so I'm going with you." I smiled, walked up and hooked my arm around his, and tried to move forward but he wouldn't move.
"Come on!" I yelled.
"Kelsey I meant it! Go to school! It's just one day, you will be fine."
"I'm not gonna argue with you. I am going to go and that's final. Plus we need to..." I paused and looked down at the ground. "We kinda need to talk about what happened yesterday."
He thought for a minute before sighing and looking back at me. "Okay fine!" he rolled his eyes and proceeded over to Justin.
When we got there, I noticed that Rebecca was standing on the other side of the truck. His hand was on her hip and she was leaning clise up on him. I rolled my eyes and continued towards them.
"Hey Kelsey." Rebecca said as she flashed a fake smile.
"Hi." I said flatly.
"We aren't going to school today. Brian called and he's got a job." Derek said towards Justin.
"Okay sounds good." he then looked at me and frowned. "Are you going?"
"Yes Justin I am going. Got a problem with that?"
He rolled his eyes and turned to Rebecca. "See you later this afternoon babe." He then reached down and kissed her lips vigorously as he grabbed at her butt. Eventually Derek had to speak up so they wouldn't go on forever.
