When I woke up, I looked out of my widow and noticed that it was dark outside. I checked my phone and saw that it was 2:30 in the morning. That medicine must have been really strong because it sure did knock me out and now I was wide awake.

I crept out of my bed and peeped my head out of the door to see if anyone was awake. The whole house was silent so I just assumed that no one was up. Turning back around and heading back to my bed, I climbed back in it, and grabbed my phone. I saw that Kristen had sent me a text.

Kristen: hey I saw that you were asleep when I came in so I will just talk to you tomorrow:) I hate we keep missing each other like this. It feels like I've barley seen you.

Me: yea sorry I just felt so tired. And me too! I have to get up extra early tomorrow morning so I probably won't see you but we are definitely going to talk tomorrow afternoon because I really have some things that I need to tell you.

With no other anotifications to check, I laid my phone down on the table beside me and plugged it up to the charger. Next, I grabbed a book from beside my bed and decided to read a little bit. I wasn't a big reader, but it usually helped get my mind off of things, plus I needed to waste some time.

After about an hour and a half of reading, I could feel my eyelids getting all droopy, and my head starting to lower. Before I knew it, my eyes were closed and I fell back asleep.

I woke up to the sound of the alarm clock on my phone blaring. I quickly reached over and turned it off, not wanting to wake anyone else up. I was already dreading going to school today, but I knew that being around some other people would actually be good for me.

Climbing out of bed, I put on some jeans and a t-shirt. I then went to the bathroom, applied a little bit of eyeliner, combed my hair, and I was basically ready. Today wasn't really going to be a special day.

After that, I crept downstairs and grabbed my book bag and car keys. I went out of the front door, out to my car, and began driving to school. When I pulled up, I started to wonder why the lot was empty beside me, but quickly I realized. Avery was gone and she was probably never coming back.

Realizing this, I put the car in park and sat there for a minute as a tear rolled down my cheek. I quickly reached up and wiped it away, not wanting anyone to know that I had been crying.

The warning bell rang, so I grabbed my stuff and hurried to 1st period. As soon as I walked in the door, I saw Rebecca starring straight at me. She whispered something to her friends and they started looking at me too.

Ignoring them, I looked around the classroom trying to find a friend to sit with. There weren't any empty seats, so I just sat down by myself. The rest of the class started coming in, and eventually so did Derek. He looked at me and quickly looked away as he walked right past my deck and sat somewhere else. He must of still been kind of mad at what happened last night. I mean, Justin did basically spill that Derek liked me.

"Ms.Thompson, Mr.Bieber. Nice to see your faces today. You two weren't skipping class together yesterday were you?" The teacher asked, smiling at us.

"No sir" I heard Derek speak up. I guess he was gonna act like he wasn't even with me. It hurt because I kinda needed a friend right now with Avery being gone.

The rest of the class went on normally. Rebecca gave me snooty looks, while the rest of the class talked amongst them selves. Towards the end of the class, the teacher gave us some free time.

"Okay class, there aren't anymore assignments for you today so just take these last couple of minutes to talk or get some other work done."

Knowing that I didn't really have anyone to talk to, I opened my binder and pulled out my homework from the other classes. I started working when someone came up and stood right in front of my desk.

"I heard your little bff just left." Rebecca said, looking down at me. "Gosh Kelsey you really know how to run people off. Do you even have any friends left?" She started laughing.

All of a sudden, someone came up beside me and sat down. "I'm her friend. Now how about you shut the fuck up and go away."

I over and saw Derek angrily looking up at her. She rolled her eyes and turned around.

"Thank you Derek." I said.

"Your welcome. There's no way I'm gonna let some bitch talk to you like that."

The bell abruptly rung so I grabbed my stuff and started putting it away.

"So I guess ill see you at lunch?" He asked.

"No I can't. I gotta go to the library and work on my stuff that I missed yesterday." I said as we started walking out the classroom door. "So I guess I'll see you after school?"

"Wait." He said as he searched around in his back pocket. "My fourth period got changed this morning. I think I have a class with you now." He unfolded the paper and showed it to me.

"Oh yay!!! That's my class!" I was happy because I had someone to talk to.

"Okay" he laughed. "Ill see you then."

I nodded my head, turned around, and started walking towards my second period. I was really looking forward to going to fourth until I realized that Justin and Rebecca were both in that class. This was definitely about to be a very interesting class.....
