"You what?!" I yelled at her.
She sniffled and scratched her nose. "Yea I think we had sex last night."
"And you don't remember it?"
"No but im 95% sure we did."
"And so you don't remember the name of of this guy?"
"I don't even remember what he looks like."
I nodded my head and continued driving towards her house. I knew that she was in some serious trouble, I just didn't know how to tell her.
When we pulled up at her house, she hopped out of my car and ran inside to grab her things. A few minutes later, she came out empty handed and tears were streaming down her face.
"What's wrong?" I asked, rolling my window down.
She walked over to the car as she wiped her face. "I can't come over tonight."
"Oh. Well its okay I just wanted to make sure that you are gonna be okay tonight. Do you want to hang out this weekend?"
She looked down at her feet, making sure to avoid eye contact with me. "I have to leave."
"What?"
"My mom just told me that I have to leave. Like....forever. My aunt is here right now and I have to pack my stuff. I have to move in with her."
"Why?!"
"Me and my mom have been arguing for months and apparently me going missing for a day has pushed her over the edge so...im leaving." She started crying and looked up at me.
I got out of my and hugged her. "Avery I'm sorry! Is there anything I can do? You can come stay at my house for a while!"
"No I already ask her that. She's definitely making me leave. She doesn't even want me in the same town. I'm fine with leaving, I just don't want to leave you." She reached up and hugged me again. By now, we both had tears streaming down our faces. "Im gonna miss you."
"Im gonna miss you too!" I tried my best to keep myself together and not cry even harder.
"Avery sweetie, come on and finish packing. We have a long trip ahead of us." A strange woman called out from her front porch. I just figured that it was her aunt.
"Okay" Avery replied. She looked at me and gave me one last hug. "I can still text you and we can meet up sometime."
I nodded my head and had to force myself to let her go. When I did, she turned around and walked back into her house. She turned around one last time and made a heart with her hands. "I love you Kelsey." She then shut the door behind her, and with that, my best friend was gone.....
