I hastily gulp the rest of my water down. It's 1:00, and I'm supposed to be in the training area.

(Few minutes later)

"You're late." Ward says.

I eye his vicious punching delivered to the bag in front of him. Might want to stay on his good side.

"Yah well I'm still tired from this morning's workout." I grumble as I put my gloves on. "I didn't think I was signing up for a 24 hour workout, when I came on board."

"It's called relative strength training... Starting with the basics." Ward explains gruffly while adjusting my gloves.

He finishes, and I walk over to the punching bag.

"And next time you're doing 15 pushups for every minute you're late."

Slam!

I throw a right hooker at the bag.

"Better pushups... Then pullups..." I mumble between punches. "I don't want to do another pullup again."

I bend over and take a deep breath.

Ward watches me like a hawk.

"If you happen to be dangling off a 200 story building, I think you'd want to do atleast 1 more pullup."

I straighten.

"So you're saying that you send agents in without the proper gear for situations such as hanging off a 200 story building, where they have to rely purely on the something as unpredictable as doing a pullup?" I pause. "Even you super soldier Ward, slip up on the pullup bars."

I resume to my position in front of the bag.

Ward stares at me, no emotion on display.

"You can leave." He tells me. I drop my stance.

He's messing with me.

"Seriously?" I ask.

"Go."

I shoot him a look and walk out.

Is he mad at me?

I pop another Monster (energy drink) and take a sip as I scroll down on my phone.

I become aware of May and Coulson walking past me. I'm currently camping out in the 'living area'.

"I'll catch up with you later." Coulson tells May.

I mentally face palm.

I should of just staked out in my bunk.

"Hey Skye, what you up to?" He asks casually.

"Don't end a sentence with a preposition." I correct. "And I'm reading."

"Reading what?"

"A book."

"About what?"

"Why do you care?" I accuse.

Then silence.

I start to count down.

1 awkward second...

Can't he just ask?

2 awkward seconds...

Or not ask, and just walk away?
